Micro Collection

I kind of remember friends having some of the sets. Don't ever remember seeing them for sale though

i have no recollection of a single piece of micro at all either and i spent at least an hour or so 3 times a week looking at starwars stuff in shops from 1982ish to 1986 inc co-op , woolies , menzies ,wm lowes ,fine fare and various smaller independants so if i had seen i would remember, i could be wrong but i think possiibly the only place i may have seen an micro collection was in a home catologue "marshall ward" or the like, i used to spend hours staring at those 2 or 3 pages aswel and i seem to have a vague memory of that .on another note everyone where i am was into starwars toys and i cant recall any of my pals or school aquaintants having mircro either :?: i often wandered how available they were here

I think they were in a catalogue that I saw, or from a friend who had got them..

1045861891 item number on gumtree

I've just stated picking some of this up, it's really nice. I've got the Hoth sets and I love the boxes.
Nothing I've got so far has any UK price labels on them, only US Toys R us ones

I used to think Micro was ****, but after collecting for decades, I have started collecting these as they are Kenner and look great displayed. I can understand how they failed as a toy line because actual play value is extremely lacking. :D

I disagree Todd - my kids much prefer the micro to the regular figures, as you've got the army builders and whole bases. Micro machines were a big success and MC could have been too.

The Hoth base is fantastic for play value - how else can you have Taun tauns going through that massive snow door never to return.

I think the issue is the paint, which falls off so easily the figures look **** so quickly.

I guess if you look at them like toy soldiers, then some amount of play. I used to get bored and light mine on fire or strap fire crackers to them....I was special.

I'd like to get the Bespin sets later in the year!

Anyone have any idea on prices for boxed, complete either Bespin World, Freeze Chamber, Gantry or Control room?

Thanks

I've not paid more than £25 for any of the smaller sets, complete with inserts - some will be cheaper. you could pay up to £50 for the larger sets - Hoth base/Freeze chamber but probably less
