memory stick help !

i saved sage files on my 32gb memory stick but when i put it back in the computer or another computer it cant open it and it says it needs to know what program created it , anybody help me out ??

Do the files show the correct sage file extension and icon?

If not rename the file XXX.zzz whereby the .zzz is the extension.

For example,

a document called test won't open in word and is possibly corrupted. Rename it test.doc and it's happy.

renamed the file and the sage icon is present but still no joy :?

What happens when you open the sage software and then try to open from there?

wont open , a message pops up saying cant use it !

Can you copy the files from the pen drive to the hard drive? Is it possible the pen drive is write protected? Some software I use won't even read if the pen drive is protected.
You need to eliminate if the pen drive or the files are at fault.

i got the information from the flash drive saved to my documents but when viewing it its all messed up with crazy numbers / letters / symbols ?

Then I'd say the pen drive is knackered. The files on your hard drive. Do they show the sage icon and do they look fine before you open them? Try the rename trick on those too.

solved it , updated the sage software to the latest update and hey presto when i browse my files and click on the flash drive it loads up !!

to be honest i think i fluked it :lol:
