Strange question, but I have a couple of loose Luke X-Wings. One has a mint body but worn helmet decals, the other a nice helmet but worn body paint (typical.) Is his head an easy pop off, or is he one I shouldn't attempt?

That one won't pop off. You would have to crack the torso to get it out without damage to the head. And then you'd have to figure out how to get it into another body. I don't even think boil and pop works well on this one.

i had the same problem, the boil and pop worked to get the head off but i had to cut the bottom of the head stem back on one side to refit it to the body, so it is doable just fiddley, i know other people have done lots of headswaps on this figure maybe they'll chime in

Its a risky one; but far from impossible.
I've done over a dozen boil and pops with this figure's head (see the customs focus link in my footer) and had two body cracks when removing the head. The bigger issue is that then head stem's end bobble bit is notably big, so to get one back in you will need to trim it slightly and then using a jewellery/watch makers screwdriver to encourage it into place.

'Purists' will say some heads do not belong to some bodies  As others have said the earlier figures with necks part of the head are difficult to transplant.

I think that you'd possibly be creating a Frankenstein figure. And especially if you have to chisel away part of the inner neck to get the head on, that seems way dodgy to me, I wouldn't want a figure that had been tampered with like that.

Sorry guys forgot abut this thread - thanks for the help, think I'll leave him. Was hoping he'd be one that would pop on/off easily but apparently not.
