Jet black Luke Stormtrooper Blaster.

cheers

Just checked for more pics, but don't have anymore, so can't anymore info at this time.

It's jet black, no hint of blue at all, and it's not a repro.

Bit of a vague comment to dump on my thread without any explanation.

It looks fine to me - as I understand this came from your childhood collection and the only figure released with a jet black blaster in the range (excluding Droids & Ewoks) was the Luke Stormtrooper

I didn't say it was repro.

Luke's blaster is opaque solid black with a curved front barrel stock end, not flat. Have you tested this blaster with a flashlight? I'm certain it will transmit light..

As Iain pointed out this came from my childhood collection, my sisters kids still have my beaten up Luke stormtrooper floating about somewhere, now do me a favour and stop trolling my thread bud.

OK, so now I intrigued - Suke - I think it isn't great form to come on here and post the way that you have - if you have concerns then go to the seller first rather than derail his thread.

I have been doing some looking into this as I'd originally called it genuine and I can see what you mean about the curved front end - in fact you seem to have written an interesting piece on RS today !

This is the picture from TIG and it does indeed have a curved front - http://www.imperialgunnery.com/imperialblasters.htm

What is interesting is that the picture provided by the seller looks to show that the weapon is jet black and I am sure he mentioned that he has tried to shine a light through it - could this be a different variant ? The seller says that it is definitely from his childhood collection and has a beat up Luke Stormtrooper that this once belonged to

I'm the buyer.

not worried about my investment as Marcus has kindly offered me a refund if it turns out to be the incorrect blaster (sold in complete faith I have to say)

I'm purely now just interested to know what it is.

Looks like the black ledy from the pics?

Its in transit by the way

I first thought of repro v6,but only from what I see. This shall by no means be a judgement or valuation.
I must admit without better pics no one on here really should try to evaluate.

I'ts not a repro, I've always had this, I'm still sure it's from my Luke Stormy but if not, it can come back home no problem:)

I have 63 imperial blasters in total including 2 for luke stormtrooper and did not know that there was an opaque black for luke stormie!M!. Really interested fuzzybuzzytoys regarding your evaluation once you get it. Did you really pay £25 for one blaster? Really intrigued...

Very interesting will have to check my blaster now.

Having met Marcus I'm more than sure that he wouldn't have intentionally tried to dupe anyone :)

Cheers mate, and I only asked for how much I was told it was worth, and did say "let me know if I'm out on price"

How much would someone pay for Luke without his Blaster?

Yup, I paid £25 for it. Cos that's how much they are worth and I was buying from a trusted seller.

Marcus, you seem to feel you have to defend yourself. You really don't. Your evaluation was correct and you sold in good faith.

Agree with Fuzzy - a genuine blaster is worth that - they are one of the hardest weapons to find and to be honest I imagine a lot of people have him paired up with a dark blue one in their own collections

I was the one that told Marcus it was genuine and am happy to admit my mistake if proven wrong. I have looked at his picture a great deal and to me it does appear to be black - this couple with the fact that I know it came from his childhood collection and that he has tried shining a light through it without success led me to believe it was genuine. Looking at some of the information on-line it does appear that the known Luke blasters out there have a rounded edge - however I have both POTF and Trilogo on cards and will check what mine look like tomorrow

Marcus is new to the hobby and to the site and it would be great if he sticks around - can we try and keep some of the snide comments to ourselves

Suke_Lkywalker you did a great job with the description of a black V1-c. About a year ago this weapon was actually listed as a seperate 'version' on TIG. When moved to the V1-c group hardly anyone noticed. Anyway there is research continuing that V5 was available with Luke stormtrooper (possibly more prevalent on tri logo?) I believe the weapon sold here is a V5 ( not Ledy ) & Marcus' memory is correct.

edit: Iain I look forward to you checking your MOCs & I can add them to my database.

I was wondering if this is the case, he got around a bit and I would find it stranger that he was solely shipped with strictly one blaster variation considering the mass of other imperial blaster variations. Time will tell.

I was leaning towards the V5 in TIG, but its a tough call from the posted pics.

I can vouch for Mumbo, for life in general but not when it comes to Luke stormy blasters

Anyone think it might be this one? - http://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8121

Here's a long thread I started about it - http://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=13865
