Loose figures off the card

Hi guys,

Need a fair market value on these figures. Each is on an ROTJ card but they all have smashed bubbles. basically I bought them from the US as MOCS. When the guy packaged them up he basically just laid them all along the bottom of the box and put strips of paper on top. Hence why every single bubble got crushed or smashed.

I'm so annoyed it's untrue.

I have opened cases on e-bay and he is not being very fair. I've paid over £150 on the actual carded figures, but due to their condition now they are only worth what a loose figure would fetch.

The figures are all or were all on ROTJ cardbacks, they are:

8D8
Logray
Nikto
Paploo
Admiral Ackbar
Star Destroyer Commander
Emporers Royal Guard

I will deduct the value from what I have paid and ask for the rest as a refund.

Thanks guys.

Bram

If I didn't have bad luck i'd have no luck at all!!

So P**SED off its untrue, all he had to do is wrap them each in bubble wrap and then at least he looked like he made the effort!

He even sent me an e-mail saying he didn't need me telling him how to pack things... which he obviously does.

I think I am being more than fair with him. If I send them back I would be out of pocket £30 on customs duties where they have been for 3 weeks, plus the postage back to the states.

If he doesn't agree with what I suggest then I will let e-bay sort it out as they will definitely find in my favour.

There's no way he's getting them sent back thoug unless he pays me what I laid out.

Sent me a really nasty e-mail in CAPS telling me how it was. i took the higher ground and asked him to speak to me as a gentleman, just so that e-bay recognise what an idiot he's being.

So infuriating!!

Thanks man.

Those figures, if loose, are worth about £50 for the bunch. If i were you i'd be asking for at least £100 off. ebay will probably side with you if you do. Either that or ask for a full refund.

Hey bram,

That's rubbish matey, it's always a worry with items in transit.

I would say as loose figures your looking at £40-50. If the cards survived you might get £10-15 for them.

How much did they cost you bud?

Hi mate

Yes £50 for the figures is about right. Just be careful with the Ebay case. There is every chance that they will just make you send everything back to get a full refund. Might be worth phoning and speaking to a 'real' person. I had a similar problem and all they offered was a free postage label to send it back.

Hi Iain,

Cheers mate.

I am happy to send them back to the US if and only if I am not out of pocket. Which means I want a refund including my P&P plus my customs fees.

I do not see why I should be out of pocket for someone else's negligence.

It's a joke and I will never use e-bay or paypal again.

Cheers mate.

Bram

You should get your p&p costs paid back and if you are lucky then you will get postage paid to return them but there is no way that Ebay will make the seller give you the customs fees

I don't have pictures at the moment.

I am in the process of negotiating with the guy.

He's being a bit unreasonable as he is not taking any responsibility for the situation.

I do not want to be out ofpocket on expenses.

His point is that he didn't WANT this to happen which I understand but he has to realise that its happened because of his negligence.

I think I a being more than fair by offering to take them and pay as loose figures, but he doesn't see it that way.

The last thing I want to do is pay for them to be sent back and still have no refund!!

Do NOT waste your time with the seller. Just deal through Paypal dispute (if you paid through your credit card just reverse the payment- Paypal hate this but too bad) You are likely to have to wear the custom charges & return tracked shipping costs. And neg the ****er.

Remember if you do return these then they will have to be sent recorded delivery, otherwise the seller will just claim that he didn't get them

I know mate, taht's exactly why I don't want to return them!

I would hate to be without mymoney and the items at any time.

If he doesn't make an agreement soon I shall just wait and escalate the cases against him.

Its all so frustrating though, I hate dealing with stressful situations, just puts a cloud over your day.

Misery!

The guy has just refunded me £150 so I am in for $80 on the figures, less $16 that e-bay had refunded me already as a goodwill gesture. So I am in for $64 on the figures. Which I guess is not too bad a result considering how it could have turned out.

The funniest thing about this is the guy sent me his hotmail address so I could send him pics of the items and his e-mail address is made up of :

PACKAGE MAN!!

Hilarious.

Hopefully this is done and dusted, I shall just keep the figures in my MINT loose collection for now.

Cheers guys for your help and support!
