So the plan is to put together a loose collection on a modest total budget of £400.

I am aiming for a loose run of the first 77 in as good a condition as I can find.

Every now and then I will post my display progress for your perusal (and possibly scorn/amusement/admiration etc) :D

I have a knackered (shabby chic?!) display stand ready to be filled. For now, there is but a solitary (and very loose limbed!) Hammerhead, but he does at least have his blaster, and some more friends on their way in the post (fingers crossed).

Best of luck with this. I look forward to watching your progress :)

Cheers - well I've started badly; my budget is 5.20 per figure, so I'm already over-budget on Hammerhead

What a terrific idea 8)
Great start with one of my favourite characters too.
Also looking forward to seeing your acquisitions unfold.

Amazing project! I'm concerned that the set budget of £5.20 per figure is too tough, BUT... a few bulk bargains and a car boot find (or similar) and there is every possibility you'll accrue enough in savings to even get some beater last 17.

I wish you all the luck in the world and can't wait to see this grow and the running total too! :D

Yeah, the accessories will be impossible on that budget. Almost all accessories are valued at over £5.20 alone these days. You've played a blinder early doors by scoring a complete hammerhead for under £6 (i'm assuming his blaster is original?)

fun challenge though. If its figures only your looking for, I could certainly sort you out a few for very reasonable prices.

including weapons?

Not a chance!

Have picked up a few weapons in a job lot though yesterday. Suspect I might need to swap or sell any weapons / accessories I do get for figures, which is not something I can say I've done before!

Just thought it'd be interesting to see what I actually end up with. Have decided to set a time limit of May the 4th to report back on progress!

I suspect not being on Facebook isn't going to help!

It's actually quite nice looking at the figures without bothering with the accessories.

I've got absolutely no doubt this will go horribly, but it's all good fun!

Thanks for your offer - if you happen to have a loose sale on the forum then definitely give me the heads up, that would be amazing! The plan is to only buy from open/public sales, because otherwise it would defeat the point of the challenge, if that makes sense!

Good luck with this. It shouldn't be too hard if you're not fussed about accessories.

Yep, it is very doable, at least I hope so! I'm more interested in seeing what I end up with, for better or worse!

This is how we collected as kids, well maybe not the £400, but going out and getting all the figures. Have fun!

damn poncho...I want some tips for searching !!!!
and I will try and help you out if I can on the loose front mate.. at best price possible

pm me if you want some search tips fella

Any advice would be appreciated (and in my case, probably needed!)

Because of postage costs, picking up big, cheap job lots seems to me like the best thing to do, and then pick through and sell on any spares to regenerate funds.

I have picked up a few job lots already and will update the thread when they arrive. Already blown more than half of my budget though

In retrospect, i think if I did this again I would just put a self imposed max limit on job lot size or individual lot spend maybe.

Cheers mate. As for searching tips - You and me both! I spotted a couple of poorly listed lots the other day.
Unfortunately for me so had about a dozen other people
