Looking to collate photos of Repro Weapons help needed

Guys im still looking for pictures of Repro weapons 8)

If you do the following when taking pictures it would be greatly appreciated 8)

Use a Macro or Super Macro setting (this ensures all the detail of the weapon is fully captured)
Use a white background if possible a piece of white paper works well (this will help with the site continuity)
Make the pictures as big as possible in terms of size (this will give me more flexibility when editing them for the website)
Take a picture of both sides of the weapon.

I also find pictures taken in natural light tend to turn out much better :)

Here are some already edited examples from the website :)

Thanks to all those who have helped out with links, pictures, Repro donations, advice etc.

Cheers Jay

Jay, going by your filenames you labled the above Imperial Blasters as Repros. Those roughly detailed Imperial Blasters are genuine. Also, whats your website?

Hi Bryan

Those rough looking Imperial Blaster were actually sent to me as repro's by one of the lads here on RS. I think Browny or Chris J?

One of reasons i think they were identified it as a repro was the circle present on the magazine. If you have any info that would be great as i have never seen this type of Imp Blaster on a carded figure.

Im currently working on a website as Repro Guide as well as cataloging all the original weapons / accessories etc

Its still in a construction phase at the minute. Im trying to register the domain name as well so i dont want to post links till i have that sorted yet.

Jay

Here is the Blue version of the above blaster. This one was found with an Imperial Commander on a 41e cardback. The Blue/Black versions have been found with the Death Star Commander and Stormtrooper both on 47 backs. The circle on the clip can also vary from flush to indented.

Hi James i hadnt tried the drop test with that weapon yet it was just one sent to me as a Repro.

Cheers for all the help Bryan.

I just took these pictures of my MOC Tri Logo Imp Blaster.

Which version of the blaster is it using your guide on the RS thread. The weapon appears solid black to me. Cheers Jay

I don't envy you Jay, judging by only this episode of finding out one of the repro guns is real I can only imagine how hard it will be to do the whole line of vintage weapons for your site.

I think as a suggestion you should probably invest in some of the real repro sets that are out there if you are serious in doing this, that way you can truly keep repros and vintage apart knowing that the repros you bought came as such and aren't just oddities or donated weapons.

Also, judging by the size of the task it wouldn't be a bad idea as others have mentioned to get a few people on board - hint hint Mr Blue Snag and DT Luke ;)

Got all my categories, the lay out etc set in place im just working through the weapons and i wont be putting the site live so to speak until i have exhausted all the options hunting for info for each weapon double checked and triple checked with a number of the guys who have experience in the Area. 8)

The Imperial Blaster was in production for the full length of the line, it completed a number of figures and is jam packed full of variations.
Bryans work on RS regarding the Imperial Blaster is amazing and to have him as a part of SWF and contributing is great.

I now want to lock the down and get some decent pictures of all the Lily Ledy Imperial Blaster variations. Takers anyone  Bryan

Well Jay its well needed, I hope you do a great job, I will eventually get round to taking pictures best I can for you of my repros , saving that I will send them on if I can't do justice to the pictures!

Hey Jay,
Here's the black Bespin Blaster as promised. I've shown it beside a genuine one for comparison. Hope this helps you on your way!

I have finally taken pictures of the ones I have, camera didn't actually perform that bad this time!

I need to brighten the images up a bit Jay and zoom in and cut out the weapons only (camera doesn't like to macro really close only when I stand back )

Send me your email one of these days and I can pass them on .

Dude the CAPS are like SHOUTING

If you put picks up I and others will let you know straight away if something is REPRO or Original.

Before you sell the REPRO (which some might consider putting it back in the system) can you take some pictures first and upload them on here buddy.

Cheers Jay
