I am starting this thread because since the 18th July each day that ticks by and the postman doesn't bring a box is starting to worry me, I won't say what it is that's coming yet as its quite special but if it doesn't turn up I will be pretty upset :(

The item is coming from the states and whilst its not unusual to wait 2-3 weeks (this being the 3rd) it's got quite a high customs amount on it which is worrying me (someone see's lots of $$$ on the label and decides "I'll have that")

If anyone has a nice story they could share where the ending resulted in you receiving the item please post it to make me feel better!!

3 months I waited for something to arrive from when I first paid for it. The guy boxed it up and left it in the boot of his car and never replied to my mail for 2 months. After he finally read my mail he said he looked in the trunk and discovered my unposted box so it was 3 months before i got any thing.
By this time I had given up and bought another carded figure then the fecking first one arrived.
Sods law I suppose.

Grant.

Jesus that's just stupidity! What a tool, I guess if he was mailing out a few at a time it could have got misplaced but still, if you took 7 packages to the post office and only got 6 receipts LOL

Well I am glad it turned up, I know mine was definitely posted on the 18th so I am praying every day it's just in a depot somewhere waiting to be sent out..

If there ever was a downside or a part of the hobby I didn't enjoy it has to be the wait time between paying and receiving items.

3 months as well - a blue snag from the US

It was posted but the customs form was stuck over my address  so it sat in a holding depot for two months before it was returned to sender. It was re-posted and arrived safe and sound :D

I'm waiting for a parcel that was posted from the UK on the 24th of June!

My last three parcels from the UK took the people from the postal service (respectively) 3,5, 3,5 and 4,5 weeks.

It happened to me twice that a parcel from the USA took more than 2 months to arrive.

I think the Romanian customs are just understaffed though Joe, so I wouldn't worry. Plus you'll get to pay HUGE customs fees of course.

The longest I had to wait for a item was over 8 months!

I thought i would be a smart ass and get some gi joe items sent to my friend in atlanta who was coming back for his mums birthday,I stated this to the ebayer involved and he had no problem with it,the plum didnt send the item until the day my mate arrived and therefore my joe gear was stuck with his house sitter, when he got back I told him to keep hold of it until he returned again (bad mistake) but it got here eventually and was well worth the wait!

I wouldnt advise doing that to anyone else though, far far to long to wait really all for a saving of about $50,I am as tight as a nuns c**t!

Luckily we are quite friendly with our post office so they even call our house to let us know something is waiting for us and we only ever pay a flat fee of 5 Lei per item normally (which is about - $2 ) but the fee is the same for everyone receiving things from the US.

I think the longest I waited here for a MOC was about 4 weeks, and as the value and item wasn't of that much value I wasn't really concerned and after a while it just turned up.

Shitting and sweating bullets on this one !

Thanks. I really didn't want to do it, but I filed a paypal dispute for it today.

Don't worry Joe. It will turn up.

You have a great deal in Romania. I always pay 19% tax plus fees for stuff from the US.

Holy ****! Yeah literally we pay those few lei and bring it home that's all!
I was always lucky in the UK as well I never paid any customs !

I saw a few auctions on ebay.com that state any buyers from certain states must pay extra tax just because of where they live, jesus! anything to drain some more money out of us.

That tax you mentioned must erase the saving you get from buying from the US Emiel. :(

I forgot to ask this time, normally I do.

It WILL turn up
It WILL turn up
It WILL turn up!!

I had to wait a total of 2 months for some he-man figures, they were held at parelforce awaiting a customs charge, but they never contacted me or sent a letter to pay it.
It got shipped back to the seller who contacted me, then i paid him to resend it.

friggin parcelFARCE

So now I dare to ask the question, who has ever had to wait ages and then never received it (I.E lost without a trace) I am really hoping no-one says its happened to them :( I remember a guy on RS having some droids or ewoks proof material go missing wow what a shame!

That's ridiculous and so lazy, how the hell are you supposed to guess where they are?!

They have your address for god sake!

I once sent a very nice snowtrooper and royalguard to a countryman through normal letterpost. I posted it in Amsterdam on the day before Queensday (a holiday on which the whole of the Netherlands changes in one big garage sale). It never arrived. Some kids probably fished it out of the mailbox. Or maybe the postman collected SW figures?

Hey Joe, I hope your package arrives sometime soon. I know i hate playing the waiting game. I've had a few times where items have taken a little longer to arrive, but most of the time it has boiled down to the seller taking their time to ship. As far as I can remember, I haven't ever had anything actually lost in the post before.

Thanks for the stories and all the reassurance in this thread! I have been talking with the sender and he hopes to have some info from the tracking number on his receipt tonight, hopefully itll show some good news and I will know what to do next if it doesn't turn up.

Still got my fingers crossed!

Sit tight Joe.

Its not late yet i have had parcels from Germany and Italy take about a month to get to me whereas it usually takes 1 - 2 weeks form the U.S to the UK.
