Hi All,

Been looking for a while for a budget friendly lightsaber build and found this guy on YouTube. In my opinion this has got to be one of the best and reasonably easy ones I have seen, so I have put the link below to the tutorial and will be posting my own build as it progresses, probably going to do mine a little differently as I cannot seem to get hold of a tv module. Making SW props has interested me for quite a while after seeing the results some of my fellow collectors have posted on this forum so I have decided to dip my toe into it, may be a disaster or may turn out good.....will see 😉.

Tomorrow will be the start of the lightsaber build, so looking forward to sharing with you all 😎👍

While I'm cooking tea, thought I would post the components I am using to build the saber, most are from a couple of leading diy stores and a cracking little place near me that do everything diy you can think of and are dirt cheap 😁

Do the DIY store stock Kyber crystals :D

Cheers Mike, I wish they did stock them 🤣🤣 looking at some options with showing a crystal within the saber and using car body filler that's shaped then painted 👍

Are you building a specific saber? i.e. Luke, Darth etc.

Think this one will be a one off, hopefully will look similar to the one on the tutorial video

I do plan on using rivets and putting a light in it as well, think it will be an experiment.

That looks like a cool, project to do. Now I'm thinking that I might have a go myself at building one. looking forward to seeing your progress.

The finished saber, overall I am pleased with it as a basic saber, the next one I am thinking of incorporating a Kyber crystal and led's and spending a bit more time on the build........watch this space 👍😁

Oh wow Russ, looking good mate.

Cheers Steve, got another in the pipeline, be a bit more elaborate I think 😁👍

That's cool Russ, don't know how I missed this thread. Looks great. I must have a go at a saber build. I'd like to do a New Hope Obi Wan one. Out of everyday materials as you have.

Cheers Rob,

That's my next plan for an obi wan saber, still got to find some big metal and rubber washers and the brass top yet, please let me know how you get on 👍😃

Russ
