Lets all laugh at Liverpool

Can't see Arsenal winning the league. Think they'll finish third. Although given a choice between them, the scum and Chelsea it's them everytime. I just think the other two will have that little extra.

is it because this quote came true - or because the scousers are going down?

The only result that made me feel better this weekend

I thought your boys were slightly unlucky. They were well in that game until Alex unleashed that thunder bolt. The only difference was Chelsea looked a lot more dangerous on the attack.
TBF missing the players you were (RVP, Fabregas, Vermallen etc etc) you did well, BUT Arsenal's injury problems are horrendous EVERY year and yet nothing seems to happen. Once or twice is bad luck. Year after year is something deeper and, like the Goalkeeper thing, Wenger seems to like sticking his head in the sand......................still could be worse, you could be a Liverpool fan!

it could be a little bit rosier if the sox take over, might convince nando to stay if we dip into the transfer market in january.

also might get rid of woy as he looks soft as **** and also plays people out of position...i just dont get it, you buy poultry (poulsen) and merieles and play merelies as a right winger...wtf...he's miles better than poulsen

:D

what is going on, with their current form relegation could be a real possibility come the end of the season

I missed the whole Blackburn **** up, but I heard it was pretty awful.
Roy paid the price anyway. I'm just a bit worried that Kenny with his vast recent experience will be a case of out of the frying pan.......

As i'm typing this i'm watching them losign 2-1 to Everton!

Why oh why did the fans think Dalglish would be their saviour?! Yeah, ok, he did well when he managed them in the 80's but the league's completely changed since then. Did none of them look at his record when he last managed a premier league team... Newcastle! This was when the "great" King (!) Kenny made the signings of Ian Rush and Stuart Pearce who were in their late 30's!

:D

laughing my ass off at Dalgiesh's start. He asked the fans to "please be patient".. if they could do that Roy Hodgson would still be their manager! lol

Not sure if I've actually said it on here, but I've been talking to a few people about Kenny taking over and I think it's a case of out of the frying pan into the fire.
I'm not expecting him to work miracles and Liverpool to put in a late charge for the title, or a European spot for that matter!

I think it was pretty obvious in Hodgson's last few games that the team had no faith in his abilities (and arguably, if you judge his press conferences, substitutions and general attitude, he had shown he wasn't up to/the right man for the job). With the upmost respect to Wolves and Blackburn (and also Blackpool, twice) a club with the players that Liverpool have (compared to those available at said other clubs), even playing badly should not be getting totally out played by Blackburn. Yes, Blackburn are a decent side, and freak results do happen (Burnley beating United last year, Ditto Hull and Arsenal etc etc) but to go from losing to Wolves to turning up and playing worse against BR is just asking for trouble. I would have thought any decent manager would get a reaction from his players, but apaprently not.

That's not to say I don't rate Hodgson as a manager, I think he did a great job at Fulham, but the move to Liverpool just didn't work out. It's like certain transfers, you hear of them and you think "yeah, that makes sense/ good signing" but in the end the thing doesn't work and the player ends up leaving being branded a flop (Forlan at United is the prime example). Possibly Roy had over achieved at Fulham, possibly Liverpool had over achived under Rafa, possibly the squad Rafa left was a lot worse than people realised, possibly the job was too complex/impossible for any one to really do a decent job, possibly a combination of all those factors.

Gotta say though, it does make me groan when I see Liverpool fans talking up Kenny taking over as if it's some equivalent of the second coming. The guy WAS great player, but great players DO NOT MAKE EVEN GOOD MANAGERS!
Robson, Souness, Shearer, Keane, Hoddle, Keagan, hell even Gazza had a crack at it! Failures one and all!

Too right Wease! I have no idea where people get the idea that great players become great managers. The only real examples you have are Steve Bruce, Mark Hughes and I supppose would argue Mancini but I never saw him play that much (didn't he play for Leicester for 5 games???!)

Look at the "great" managers: Ferguson, Wenger, Mourinho etc........ none of them played top flight football (maybe Ferguson had one or two caps for Scotland but then again who couldn't  ) Hell Mourinho, started out as a translator for Bobby Robson.

Personally I feel for Hodgson but I just get the impression that his style of football isn't suited to England. He did well in Italy and I believe he did ok as the national manager for Switzerland and Finland. Look at him with Fulham last season - did unbelievably well in the Europa League but semi ok in Premiership. I went down to Fulham to watch Villa beat them 2-0 at Craven Cottage and they were so poor.

Unlucky Roy but I don't think you were destined to do well at Liverpool, hell i'd even say that Liverpool were too big for you. Don't be too disheartened as Dalglish will do **** all and walk away in the summer. Guaranteed

I wouldn't count any of them as any more than mediocre managers. OK Mancini won a few Seria A titles with Inter, BUT they were when Juve, AC and Fiorentina had all been relegated for financial irregularities so, in my book that ranks them up there with SPL titles. The only "great" players who have made good managers IMO are Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Zoff (possibly) and more recently Guardiola.

He did well with Switzerland but not so sure about Finland or Inter. TBH I think he flattered to deceive at both the latter two.

To be fair, Dalglish won the premier league as a manager. But i'm just not sure he's a good manager anymore. He's been out of the game at the top level for way too long. I do agree tho, good players very rarely make good managers.

I agree about Kenny. He WAS great manager, I just worry that ten years without any managerial experience may well be too much.

I guess time will tell.

George Graham won the league more recently than Kenny - I don't see many clubs clamouring to have him at the helm, and his stint at Tottenham just brought the beer cup

Ehhh...................
You're forgetting his stint with Blackburn mate! '95 PL winners (beats Georges '91 league win).

Indeed I am

I should change it to George Graham has won the league more recently than Liverpool, but you probably don't want reminding of that
