Lego Star Wars 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon

@ Richard: this money is not going to Iain this time, some might wend it way to Browny but its going to be spent on a holiday!!

@ escapist: these retailed for £350 when they were in the shops, I paid £275 for mine!!!

Great Chris where you thinking of going? After CE2 I'm taking the family down to Somerset this year for an old fashioned beach holiday.

We've got 8 days booked in Portugal Richard. Go away on the 15th May, can't bloody wait!! It's Laura's (the ball and chain) 30th on the 2nd June, instead of a big party she asked if we could spend it on a holiday instead! Great idea!

Good sale Dude. You also did REALLY well building it. I bought the Death Star with 24 mini figures about 3 Christmas's ago. We usually attempt to start a build each christmas time but we bit of way more than we could chew with like 3000+ plus pieces in that set. I believe your Falcon had over 5000+ pieces.

5197 pieces to be precise Grant!!! Took me around 4 weeks as I could only do little bits at a time when the kids had gone to bed. It was a bloody nightmare as well as when I broke it down the first time I built it, I didn't separate the pieces, just dumped them all in bags!!!

I loved the set but just didn't have the room. It's gone to a good home though, a guy in Singapore who also bought my UCS Death Star 2.

Again you did really well mate with the build. I used to get my family members to look for the bits from the bags for the builds and I used to just piece them together. It worked out quite well but it was just taking us TOO long to build the Deathstar. We were like maybe 15 hours in and we still had about 50 pages left of building. We were all cracking up (not in a good way) If you have ever seen that episode from Father Ted called a song for Europe. Our last few attempts on the build was like Ted and Dougal trying to write that song on those nights LOL... 8) After that we just stuck to smaller builds like the X-Wing and the small 800 piece AT-AT Walker.

Kind Regards

Grant.
