Thought I'd start this off, did a quick search and there doesn't seem to be a thread for this although if I have missed something feel free to point out the error of my ways.

Just finished reading I Think Therefore I Play, Andrea Pirlos ghost written autobiography. Not bad with some funny anecdotes but as football books go its not a patch on Walking on Water by the great man Cloughy.

I almost always have a book on the go.

Currently, I'm coming towards the end of Stephen King's The Stand, for like the 8th time, lol. My fave book ever. I'm somewhere in the 800's for my current page, with another couple hundred to go... I don't think there's a longer book outside of religious texts.

Oh, I liked it enough. Like IT though, the book just blows the televised version away. :)

When I worked for the police we had a video in the back room and watched The Stand on VHS over a few lunch breaks. Me and my colleague at the time used to piss ourselves about some of the hilarious bits in that. That lad when he crashed his bike off the hillside, and the girl riding the moped with a daft crash helmet on. I don't know if it was meant to be funny but it was. Still chuckle to myself about it now

Never seen all of IT but keep meaning to. Christine is my favourite of SK's. Prefer the movie though. Book is way too long.

Just read Roy Keans the second half, he's an angry man! If your a football fan it's alright I suppose I only read it because someone gave it to me.

There are/were a few threads on books...

Lol, wouldn't worry. They are old threads and they do tend to disappear down the boards quite quickly, especially with the amount of shite we talk in Off Topic.

True enough, look at the bollocks some people not a million miles from this keyboard chat about Arsenal

It is funny in places the stuff he comes out with though. What he said to Carlos Queiroz about his wife and texting Dwight Yorke after leaving Sunderland.

Last books iv read are
Steppenwolf by hermann hesse and
The wind up bird chronicle
By haruki murakami
Two great authors and titles

Recently finished Ernest Cline's sophomore effort 'Armada'. Not as fun as 'Ready Ppayer One', but definitely worth a read.

Also, it's much better than my current read; K. A. Stroud's Engineering Mathematics (7th Ed)

I read books all the time I'm on about two a week.
Last books I read were
Fiction:
The Long Wars - Terry Pratchett & Stephen Baxter
Abomination - Gary Whitta
Ref:
Collins Ultimate Navigation Manual
Advanced Bushcraft

At the moment I'm reading Damned by Chuck Palahniuk and a guide to walking Hadrains Wall that I want to do next year.

What do you think of his stuff? I've read a few of his books and they get a bit samey after a while. I do think Fight Club is fantastic though

To be honest its the first one of his I have read, its alright and I like the story line it's just that I'm not into it a 100% if your with me, but I will read some more of his stuff at some point. I have heard that fight club is his best work

It's the best of what i've read, but it was also the first. Read, Haunted, Survivor and Invisible monsters. Much of a muchness.
