The other week my wife turned to me and said "wow look at these jammy gits - they found a princess Di beanie baby at a boot sale and its worth thousands" I didn't give it much thought as I'm not a beanie baby collector :lol:

It turns out (if you read the article) that in fact, despite the high prices sellers ask for them, they actually sell for about $100 lol

I thought this was similar to the things we see in our hobby and listed on ebay, after some ambitious seller reads a shitty article about "the rarest SW figures in the galaxy" or sees other similarly retarded asking prices from crazy sellers and believes they've hit the jackpot..

This story was so out of hand that Vectis were considering putting a statement on their Internet page telling people to stop contacting them as they don't want to sell beannies which mainly go for £5 or less.

The Princess Di Beanie is actually really common and can be picked up for a fiver, the expensive version has different pellets/beans in it
