Jez's Vintage Homage and Luke X-Wing Focus: Final Show August 2016

Always nice to see loose figures displayed nicely, good collection you have.

These are so many routes you could go once the loose collection is all wrapped up, variant/carded/modern/baggies/ships & play-sets/bootlegs, just go with whatever floats your boat

Congrats Jez- awesome looking collection! How long have you been putting these together for? Good luck on the moc hunt- are you going for any figure on any card or sticking to sw on sw esb on esb etc?
What's your grail moc then dude? When I started I wanted a potf Luke stormtrooper....
Well done buddy

Thanks very much.

You never forget your first love!!

I Started collecting in 1982 for 5 years, first figures were naturally Han & Luke. I still remember so much about then, where i was when i bought, Madine, Commando, Wampa, who bought me 4Lom what friends had certain ships etc etc. How i felt great when i was the first kid in school with a Gammy Guard, nuff respect.
I was reading Joe's site about Tri Logos and the Hybrids, it makes perfect sense to me that; as a kid, my friends and i thought that Hammerhead, Bespin Guard and Powerdroid were all "Really rare!" I remember being dead chuffed when i found H'Head and Powerdroid in Woolworths.

I lost interested in the figures when i discovered skateboarding and girls. Regrettably i sold all but 2 of my figures.
I have remained a huge fan since childhood, when i met my wife she had a life size Darth cardboard cut out in her house. When we had boy and girl twins we were tempted to call them Luke & Leia! My young lad got me into collecting again, he is more obsessive than me! We began in May 2010.

At the moment i'm just buying MOCs which take my fancy or i think are reasonable value for money. I'm still on the hunt for beaters or better for my lad to put in his own Rebel Transport, ( he was heartbroken when the dog ate his Obi Wan and chewed vaders cape!)

I love the Biker Scouts, i think they look cool as f##k but the military man in me knows that tactically they were pr##ks, i mean who wears and outfit like that in the forest!

I'd be chuffed to get hold of Luke (Farmboy), Han, Hammerhead and Darth. To get some Star Wars cards would be great.

Grail? Either Luke or Han, right now, as that's where it all began for me.

Cheers :)

Jez your post just made me laugh – I remember taking into school as a kid R5 D4 (Obviously had no idea that they would be valuable-ish one day) and i can remember quite vividly been a right smug twat about it.. then I lost it /// Karma!

I was lucky I kept most of my figures in my folks loft and it was only till the start of the year when I got back into collecting when my dad had a clean out and phoned me to see if he could bin them. One frantic drive from to London to Birmingham and can say they we're all rescued. I can safely say should I ever have to sell the lot (God forbid) I would keep hold of four of the figures that have sentimental meaning - My First R2D2 (battered to ****), Yoda (Dart hole in face), Ben Kenobi and the power droid. All seen better days (see pic) yet I consider these 4 more valuable that the whole collection.. oh and the At-At and Falcon... I want them buried with me...

(please note the delicate hand drawn blue marker details on R2's body - hard to spot the difference eh? :) )

My Wife suggested i buy another cabinet!! Happy Days. :D

New photos added, i'm well chuffed.

My wife has just told me she reckons there is room for a forth along the same wall. 8)

All i need now is a Shuttle and some more MOCs!

mate that collection looks amazing - I love your loose collection

looks like you might need another cabinet for your MOC's tho :D

Nice display, love the ikea cabinets, although I had some problems with mine, the door wouldn't close properly and when it did close, I had problems opening it without shaking everything out of place. And when I walked by it, it shook like it was an earthquake....You have any problems?

All of your figures are top drawer!, If you find a better blue snag, let me know if you sell that one. :p
Classy display aswell mate.

Nice one. Every time a new collection is posted, I grow a bit more shamefull.

Hey Neil

I should be too worried - Jez started buying a couple of figures off me saying he was just building up a collection for his lad -
and now look what has happened - you'll be going the same way soon !

I would be well chuffed with that mate. I just need to establish a network of drop off points for my 'goods' to be delivered away from er indoors.
Iain, you appear to be a one-man cataylist for the up and coming collectors. I for one, am most grateful.

Hmmm - I wonder if I'm some sort of 'Star Wars' drug dealer type :D

Just incase, if the doorbell goes.........................................................hide!

Thank you very much. The shuttles out of my price range i'm afraid. I'm yet to dip my toe in the graded area yet (doubt i will).
Thanks for thinking of me though.
Cheers

No one of the doors is a bit stiffer but generally for the price you can't get much better. First 2 i paid £11.50 for the pair, 3rd (with light) i paid £22.65. Gotta love ebay and a big car boot :)

Awesome display, love it nice clean layout and tidy. Well done so whats next?

Thanks very much, homage to my OCD !

I was after one type of each card (SW, ESB, ROTJ, Tri-Logo and POTF) and some more principal characters, hence why i have just updated the last few photos to include my latest addition (Sweet Lando General on a POTF card). Now all i need is a 12/20 back.

I think that 4th cabinet may have to get sourced soon!!
