JEDI_MASTERS MARATHON COMPETITION - ***COMPETITION CLOSED***

How's the training going Chris? I'm really jealous of your race, I've tried 4 times in the ballot but never got a place.
Keep going son!

4hours 55mins for me.

Good luck. Break the 5 hour barrier goal you have yourself.

For yourself, not me, yeah for yourself. Will be good for both of us. Especially you, yeah you. Mainly you so you do it mate.

Apologies for the delay in my reply, Chris. I'll plump for 2:04:39. I'm serious. All this talk of "that's it, I'm ****ed" is all hot air... you've been gearing up to take on the world marathon record breakers in a most stealth-like, SWFUK stylee. Go for it, my friend... whatever time you get, we'll all be proud as punch.

Guys, the photos show some nice artwork but they really don't do them justice. I caught a cheeky glimpse of the Star Wars one when Martin handed it to Chris in London at the screening of ROTJ. It looks awesome and will definitely add something to your collection areas.

Ha! Only just seen this, Jez :D Kind words, I thank you. You've made me blush.

*polite cough*

Now then, I'm not one for 'blowing my own trumpet' (stop sniggering at the back), but I thought I would expand on the details of the competition prizes I've donated to Chris' most worthy cause from his original post:

All three paintings are painted by my own fair hand (no printing by mechanical methods, or silk screening), Acrylic on Canvas; utilising the finest Winsor & Newton and Daler Rowney paints (those whites you see, will not yellow in decades to come... not sure that's a 'selling' point on a vintage SW site, but them's the facts).

The Palitoy canvas measures:
Length 60cm
Width 25cm
Depth 3cm

...and the vintage Star Wars and Luke and Leia logos, both measure:

Length 30cm
Width 30cm
Depth 3cm

Far from being 'one-offs', I am the first to admit... I have been painting these to commission for around the £60 mark... not a bad little prize for a mere £5 donation to get you in the competition.

Come on, chaps... get those guesses (and fivers) rolling in :D

Is that the WR?

First post updates with 12 entries so far.

Come on guys, don't be shy. Get that time posted and a donation sent and you could win some fantastic prize's

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ok, bump time.

12 are in. Thank you to those who have donated so far.

Any one else???

I will close the comp at 7pm Saturday so get your times and donations in by then or miss out the chance of winning some fantastic prize's.

Come on, chaps! Chris is putting the effort in, let's see our valued members of this forum doing the same... a fiver for a chance of winning some unique prizes, and all for a very worthy cause :D :D :D

12 participants, just 12 participants WTF?

Annoyingly the last 2 free competitions had , 33 & 50 participants who were keen to take part!

A fiver, I'm speechless

Woops!

I haven't been reading this thread.

What do I have to do?

Edit: OK- read it.

Time 5 hours 23 mins.

Donation sending.

Mine is in as well - will go for 6h 10 (not that I don;t believe in you mate :D )

Have to agree with Jez that is a bit disappointing how many people are in for this one when they all seem to come out of the woodwork for the free ones !

Maybe Edd can make it a sticky?

There was a free one?

Am I missing everything? :?

EDIT: Oh, the free ones that didn't involve marathons. Was searching for ages. So confused. Bloody late shifts. :? :p

I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday, even without the competition this is such a worthy cause.

Come on lads, Chris is making a huge effort, let's all give him our support and help him reach his target.

Right Fella! Donation made :D

I'm going to say based on you currently running 10min/miles adding in fatigue, but allowing for the excitement of the big day and the crowed carrying you along.....5:15.

In fact I wouldn't be surprised if you went under the 5hr barrier...NEVER EVER UNDER ESTIMATE YOURSELF. :D

Eat well the day before, have a light dinner (easy on the fibre...you don't want to be doing a Paula half way round) and to state the bleeding obvious stay well hydrated. But most of all Enjoy it.

Sorry I'm late to this party as well - no excuses should have clicked on the link ages ago.
5 hours 37 for my guess, hope you break the 5 hours though - only saying 5:37 as 37 is my Station number

Do us proud pal and enjoy every second
