Jedi534 Vintage Collection

Looks even better the second time around Brian :) Did the Droids & Ewoks smell fresh when they were released? If I didn't know you may have a "small" cardback collection I'd ask what you did with the cardbacks :) They'd always be welcome at my place
Truth be told, yes, they smelled real fresh and plasticy! (If that's even a word) As for the cardbacks, I added the ones I didn't have to my collection and the others went into my duplicates pile. I know i'm gonna get a bunch of flak for this but here are the bubbles!

Were they beaters!?
All of the Ewoks and about half of the Droids were beaters. Jord, Thall, Kea, Kez, and Gundy were almost perfect except for the Yellow, or in this case the Brown bubbles! Sise and Tig were the worst and it looked like Sise had gone through a washing machine!

Believe it or not, carded was the cheapest way for me to acquire these. I paid a total of $750 (including Vlix) for both sets. The best deals I found was Sise at $120, a loose C-3PO for $30 and Thall for $10! The most expensive was Tig for $100 and R2 for $110. All the rest were around the $25-$40 range.

I also had a carded C-3PO that I paid $130 for, only to find a loose one shortly after for $100 less! Needless to say, I re-sold the carded one, got my money back and he escaped being opened! It was a great run! :D

I figured it was in poor taste to simply provide a link to another forum to check out my collection so I have uploaded my current figure display here along with a few additions! Enjoy! :D

Beautiful collection.. but tell me one thing, and i'm sure you're tired of answering this, but:

You ripped the figures off their cards?? what the ****?

Am I mad? or am I missing something?

Anyway, dece collection man.
How else can I claim one of the mintiest loose collections around!

Just kidding man, this is not going to make sense but usually, one is able to find sealed beater carded figures for just a few dollars more than some of their loose counterparts. In my world anyway. For example, I picked up a beater MIM Vader for $25. A nice loose one I can get for around $15-$20. So, I open him up, and now I have a mint "Lili-Ledy" Vader for my loose display for a fraction of the cost. I know, it's a warped way of thinking, but there it is. Also, I don't open every carded fig I get and most were variants that came from beater cards, cut-cards or baggies. I'll admit, there were 2 or 3 that I kinda feel bad about...

Same thing with my Droids & Ewoks figs, it was cheaper to buy them on flawed cards than loose! Why buy a loose Tig Fromm without weapon for $90 when you can get a carded version for $110!? :?

I can't believe I didn't post on your collection before.

It is simply amazing! I too love the Droids and Ewoks figures you have. Sometime soon I need to put a dent in those. At least I do have a decent start on the coins for those. :)
