This is my first attempt at putting a showcase together. I've been debating for a while about what I should post but I've recently noticed a small trend has been forming as I inch closer to completing my debut Trilogo cards. I've started to acquire a few Kenner ROTJ 77/79 back cards as duplicates to their Trilogo equivalent.

So I've decided to try to put a run together of the Trilogo carded figure and it's Kenner ROTJ equivalent for the debut Trilogo carded figures. This is the middle 15 of the Jedi run and has Paploo and Lumat which overrun into the last 17.

To me this is a nice little focus as it's cheap. Once I've completed it I might start looking at POTF carded figures in this range as well although there'll be pricier in some cases (Nikto for instance) but my first aim is just the ROTJ Kenner cards and Nien Nunb in both.

Anyway this is what I have so far. First up are the Trilogo's I have with Kenner equivalents

and here's a picture of the focus so far

I've also not decided to be too picky about 77 or 79 back as front-wise there's not any difference. The Paploo is a Kenner Canada 77 back but the others are 79 back.

Some nice looking MOC.

In terms of a name, what will you have in the collection once you consider it completed?

If we're just talking about this focus then it will be the 15 debut card Trilogo's and their Kenner ROTJ equivalents. This focus is only a small part of my collection so I'm guessing I'll put a separate showcase together for the whole thing at some point. I don't know if that's OK or not ?

Nice idea :) Having them side by side really highlights the different coloured backgrounds the figures were released on over here :)

Great idea for a focus. It really highlights the difference between the cards in terms of colours used for behind the figure and also the pictures. It serves to remind how awesome trilogos are ;)

Yes, it's starting to really grow on me seeing the subtle differences between these 2 card types which were released at the same time. Not only how the photo was used for each but also the bubble quality deficiencies in both. Kenner's discoloured most probably because the type of plastic used produced a more solid stronger bubble so the Trilogo's look better with age but suffer more with bubble damage.

I've always steered away from price stickers on cards. I know it's a "marmite" subject but my main reason is that I still have all my original cardbacks and none of them have a price sticker on them. So I've tended to want to keep it that way up until now. Similarly I try to avoid graded figures as I don't agree with it because for me I prefer to find "gems in the rough". Funnily enough the Leia Poncho has broken both those rules for me. The Trilogo's an AFA-80 and the Kenner's got the price sticker. I'm happy with both.

I decided on the graded Leia because for the life of me (I started this Trilogo run around 2007) I haven't been able to find one. I don't have a great network of contacts so finding stuff is hard. This forum has been a godsend to me as Ebay is getting more and more difficult to find hidden treasures.

Looks great side by side 8) shows the differences, as for what focus to call it, it's " Jedi Misters " focus
For me it's not what it fits to, it's what you want that counts.

Thanks!

Madine's not a problem because he didn't debut on a Trilogo card. He debuted on this card -

I knew my focus title would be confusing :)
