Japanese Popy Figures Rarity and Value???

Just to add to the above - POPY's are great to collect! Only 15 pieces; varying degress of difficulty to find and IMHO some of the best characters from the original line included. Shame they didn't produce a Yoda - would have been sweet!

Without a doubt the most expensive is Fett followed by Vader but the R5 is definitely the hardest to find complete. Not only did it include a unqiue small white piece of paper (the small paper sheet was printed to let the buyer know that the real name of the robot was R5-D4 and not R4-D5 as it was shown on the box), but the R5 should be in an ESB-C baggie - I have never seen a R5-D4 in a ESB-C baggie other than in a POPY, not even Javi's magnificent set had the correct R5 baggie - does yours Gary?

Javi had a full set for sale on RS a bit ago - will see if I can find the thread - as a set they look amazing

I got my Luke bespin from Javi's set, do you think it's worth sending to ukg for display purposes?

Superb information, Christian- much obliged, as I'm hoping to acquire the full 15. The white piece of paper and the baggie classification was something that I wasn't aware of for the R5-D4 figure. A splendid heads up!

Just decided to take the plunge with this line, love the Japanese SW stuff and the Popy packaging is just so cool.

Managed to land a couple off RS, a Han Hoth and Luke Bespin - missing bits and the Han box is a beater but you've got to start somewhere.

They do appear to be quite rare, so this looks like I'm in it for the long haul...

Best of luck in the search. I have been after them now for the best part of a year now. Fortunately Ive got a couple of the more difficult ones out of the way. I think the most difficult ones for me to get now will be the R5 and Stormie. Annoyingly I let a pristine R5 which was 100% complete with the correct baggie slip through my fingers earlier this year :evil: Only time will tell how much I will regret that.

There a great run to collect and don't take much space. Think I need 4 more, darth, both stormies and c3po. Will be going to check my r5 now. It was the first I got.
