J. Saville

OK I'm sorry I bought this up now, just to lighten the mood.

Sky News just displayed images of the three women who claim that Savile interfered with .
They showed a current picture of each of the women and a picture taken of each of them from the 1970s.
The caption read: Now, then. Now, then. Now, then.

Here all week, try the fish, etc etc.

lol

Strangely, the price of Jim'll Fix It crap on ebay seems to be holding it's own at the moment.

Wouldn't like to be the proud new owner of any of this though:-

Any suggestions on what to do with my Jim'll Fix It soap on a rope, MOSC?

I was thinking that. I saw an interview with someone who'd bought loads of his stuff and she was saying it was such a good investment for the future.....maybe it isn't now

Let's just hope old Georgie Lucas doesn't turn out to be a raving paedo !

Those comments might be a bit different now..

Lord DRaper from the Mail comments section said:
This man was one of the greatest ever to live. He gave more of himself than any other living man, and the knoghthood was more worthy than a thousand others. He should have had a higher honour bestowed on him. Perhaps at last he has become a saint!!!!

Tony from the Mail comments section said:
What a chartable and public spirited man, even in death, that undoubtedly deserved the 'Sir' preceding his name, and what a contrast to many of the other knights currently dominating the news. RIP Sir Jim.

Mmmmmmmmmm, still Jimmy fans now are you? Amazing how things change...

And I remember reading about the poor sod who bought the rights to Gary Glitter's songs months before that broke..

I wonder if Smiffy's will start selling these off cheap for Halloween:-

It's certainly an interesting topic of debate. Assuming the allegation are true, it's no doubt terrible for the individuals and their families, 100% agree. But also you can't deny that the guy made millions of people very happy throughout his life. So do a few bad things wipe out the many good things he did? To a certain extent for sure, but completely?

I know you're just posing the question Edd, but I really can't believe what I just read. Firstly, with all the evidence against him, surely what he done is in no doubt.
Also. Surely no-one thinks you can wipe out rape by raising a bit of money for charity.
The guy's a criminal. End of.

Yeah it's not my opinion, and as the guy is dead we'll never know for sure. I never met him (luckily by the sound of it!) but he doesn't strike me as a pure evil ****.

The guy systematically abused vunerable underage kids for over 30 years, how pure evil do you ****ing want... :?

All I'm saying is don't jump on the media band wagon/pitch fork brigade before you know the facts. And facts that will never be proved one way or another because he's dead.

I think you're always going to have a struggle when you take the moral high ground on something like this, and no I'm not a hysterical Daily Mail reader. I just find some of the comments/points you have raised in this post a little strange.

Yes rather than spark a debate I seem to have unintentionally come across as a Jimmy Saville fan club member and advocate of paedophiles, which obviously I'm not. Next time I'll keep my mouth shut

Edd, I see your point. There is a massive bandwagon and every ****er is jumping on it - bloody hell somone even touched Sandi Toksvigs tits !

I do find it hard to beleive that nothing has come out before - maybe the man was an institution in the 1970s and 80s but he wasn't untouchable later in life.

That said - latest news is that there are 120 compliants and there certainly is no smoke without fire.

Thanks Iain, I realise it didn't come across well but my main point was that I think it's a little unfair to destroy the reputation of somebody so highly regarded without CONCRETE evidence. And it wouldn't be the first time a celebrity has fallen victim to malicious claims. Credibility like his (was) takes a lifetime to build, and only days to destroy. And due to the nature of such claims, IMO they shouldn't be made public until 100% proven. People get tortured/killed for having these kind of allegations against them, it's not a joke.

Come on boys! It has been proven beyond any reasonable doubt. The BBC have been covering up for years. His colleagues from those times have said they've been waiting for this stuff to come out. What more proof is there to be gained? If it was one of your kids raped by this ****in monster, would you still feel as compelled to defend him?

Ed sorry if I have got up on my high horse about this, didn't mean to come across as argumentative
