Hello Guys,

I have recently been asked to do a house clearance for an elderly friend who stated that if there is anything that I wanted within the items she wanted to throw out I could have. Now I have in my possession a trunk which contained some Star Wars items that belonged to her son. At this stage I really wanted some sound advise as to the rough price of said items. The items I am about to list are absolutely mint and within the boxes there is even the stickers and instruction booklets. At this stage I know you guys might require more personal info from myself however I am really just looking for a guide and would prefer the info of enthusiasts. As I said these items come in great condition and are still within their original boxes which are also in wonderful condition. They are all branded by a company called Palitoy.

* Scout Walker
* Tauntaum
* Hoth Wampa
* AST 5
* MLC 3
* INT 4
* Vehicle Maintenance Energizer
* Rebel Armored Snowspeeder
* AT-AT
* X Wing Fighter

I would appreciate your advice and information.

Very hard to value the items without seeing pictures of them.

Guys please remember how often newbies sign up looking for prices and then list stuff on Ebay, don't go getting upset if he chooses not to sell on here. It is his prerogative where he sells, though if you do provide estimates it would be nice if he gave you first shot at them, he is by no means forced to.

You should do the honest thing and tell the little old lady to remind her son he has forgotten some valuable things he has left :) failing that sell them to me :)

Joking aside if they are in condition with no tears, creases or bumps

Scout walker £60-80
Taun Taun £40-£60
Wampa £40-£50
AST-5 £15-25
MLC-3 £25-£35
INT-4 £15-£25
VME £15-20
Snowspeeder £60-£80
AT-AT pass on this one, sometimes sell for good money
X-Wing haven't got a clue :)

Hope this helps

Firstly you have posted in the wrong section, or I assume you are going to flog these on e-bay after we have bothered to give you some prices as a starter.

So my advice is put them on e-bay with an auction starting price of 99p and see what you get for them, supply and demand dictate a lot in this game.

Look if I'm been honest from my point of view I just don't believe the story, I remember when I had some toy plastic soldiers in our loft when my mum sold her house I was gutted they were left there and I never forgot they were there, now to forget that there are boxed SW vehicles in his mums loft is another thing, of course there could be many reasons given why they are still there but I won't go into things, anyway I've given you the benefit of the doubt and given you what I feel are what they are worth, Grant is absolutely right pictures tell almost everything, my advice would be this keep them lock them away for 20 years instead of selling them and pissing the money up some wall.

Regards,

Scott.

P.s I'm not a twat its just a gut feeling!

hey again guys,

Ok the friends of mine are elderly people who are very well to do, in fact it is an elderly doctor and his wife who are now after all these years having a clear out, they do not see their children any more and do not care for money, the last thing they want to do is worry about having to list these items on ebay or any other sort of site that they do not understand. From my point of view I am not going to sell these for my own monetary gain and if they are sold I would be more than happy to do business on here. I can understand a newbie coming into your environment, writing on the wrong forum thread and touting that he has these items might have you seriously questioning the authenticity, but as I said I was just looking for guidance. I want to take my findings back to the couple and see if they have any problems with me selling them as I am certainly not dishonest and as I said these people are friends that I almost consider as family. I have purposely not told you guys too much for their security if nothing else, they have many items which have been extremely well looked after and that in my honest opinion would have collectors knocking on their door for. Many apologies for my intrusion but hopefully I can have some photographic evidence for you shortly.

Good reply. If you upload the photos to photobucket, flikr or other online photo hosting website and then link here that is the easiest method.
Some of the guys will be concerned because we got so many asking for prizes and then they're off to ebay - so you have to see things from our point of view.
If you check your pms (orange button in the top right corner) you'll probably get offers arriving. Obviously someone buying the full lot in one go will offer less as it is less hassle for you. Take your time and wait is my advice.

After you've put the photos up of course.

As stated well written response

There are many nefarious characters around, so you can understand the reticence and defensive stance taken. This forum is full of very well intentioned and extremely knowledgeable collectors, who will trade and give items to each other to keep items with the people that appreciate them for their collectables value and to own little pieces of history.

Your post sounds reasonable but as with all things in life, quid pro quo

If you post up some pictures using Flikr or photo bucket, you will get honest and knowledgeable appraisals in the hope that you will give first chance to members on here.

Look forward to seeing the pictures.

Michael Sith ( for security reasons that's not my real name :wink: )

I would be interested in the AtAt but there's no way I would buy from someone who's only just joined up asking for prices/offers ..no offence.

A complete AtAt with chin guns/side door/battery cover/cockpit lid and side guns not snapped off could be anywhere between £40-80. With a box perhaps £70-110. Absolutely immaculate with inserts and everything that came with it - well anything between £90 - £200 and beyond.

My advice is to await offers from those willing to buy on here or bung the lot on Ebay and it will sell because from the sounds of it there are some decent items, not particularly rare, but nice 8)

Echo the comments made by other members above. Might be interested in some of the smaller items but need to see images first.

Another interested party here and echo the comments above, pics are an absolute must though.

The X-Wing and Snowspeeder would really interest me and with pictures you would have an instant buyer for both of those :)

Ok, i know we've all seen it before, but give the fella a little bit of time guys.
We're on here all the time because we like it, it's our forum. He won't be on it all the time cuz he just wants to use it as a medium for selling. It's only been 48 hrs.
These people who own the stuff are aparently old folk, it may not be that easy. I'd say give him until the weekend.
Once again, we do seem to jump on people very quickly (which could fuel the flames for further time wasters, as they get a buzz out of us getting our knickers in a knot). On the other hand we slate RS for being really arsey. I'm not comparing the 2 sites at all, i'm just saying chill.
Not too long ago, everyone was initially keen to doubt Debs. Now we are all her friends (ok internet friends).
Can we just please try to be a little bit more trusting (within reason)?
I'll be happy to admit to being wrong next week, but the constant keyboard bashing does gripe a little.

Once again, i'm donning my tin hat and getting under the table. :)
