Hi,

I have just started collecting and recently (today) won this Ebay auction http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ORIGINAL-...xxdpynlBcP6WgS39uV4b8%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I did my research and the seller does not appear on your list of suspect sellers. I checked his feedback and there's not much in the way of recent Star Wars figure sales. Do you guys think the figures are legit? Could they of been re-carded do you think? They are presented as original in the sellers description.

I am interested in collecting MOC figures only. Please could you give me any tips to avoid buying fake or recarded figures?

Thanks for your advice.

Alex

Hey Alex

Welcome the forum buddy.

As to the figures they look fine to me. If you look at the close up of the Bib Fortuna you can see the 'waffel pattern' around the seal of the bubble. This is good sign it is a geunine MOC as to date no one has been able to replicate it.

The other 2 have blurry pics which doesn't help but I can't see anything that is screaming facke. To be honest as well, a lot of the time its only the high end expensive to get figures that are commonly facked. These are what I would say are the lower end/cheaper one's so you should be safe.

Hi Chris,

That's great. There's a lot of horror stories about collecting.... And as a noob, I'm a little nervous.

I guess it wouldn't make sense to fake/recard onto a ROTJ card back!

Cheers

Alex

People will fake/recard anything but it is mainly SW 12/21 backs or rarer Tri Logo's.

Havent heard of any ROTJ being faked lately. They are after all mostly between £20 - £50 so it would be worth it I would have imagined anyway.

Looking at these there is nothing wrong with them - but the price is already to high - you should be able to pick up cards like this for around the £25-£30 mark tops if you are patient

I was gonna say the same. Definitely legit but someone has paid way too much for them. £70 would be high in my opinion.

Is the going rate circa £30 for a MOC ROTJ?

Cheers

These things are only as valuable as the price someone is happy to pay - you obviously only just outbid someone so I wouldn't worry too much. MOCs seem to be going up in price at the moment as well - however, I would think with a bit of patience then you will be able to pick up quote a few ROTJ MOCs for between £25-£40

It depends on the moc and the condition. ROTJ MOCs go from £20 all the way up to £400+
