Yes the mods over there are that great combination of slow to reply/act on anything, but come down hard when they do. A bit like the person you probably all work with that does nothing all day and then tries to blame it on somebody else when everything falls apart.

For such a big/popular site, they really need to tighten up. I've sent countless messages to the mods on there over the years that have either taken days/weeks to get a response, or have been ignored completely. If you're too busy to be a moderator, don't offer to do it!

Moderator inactivity on RS has always been a problem (in my eyes as a member) - Mike M is probably the only moderator that is active daily, Tommy and James G are hardly ever around, at least not actively posting unless someone major comes up. They are both active in the hobby but their board presence in the last 3-4 years is almost non existent. James usually just pops up to sell stuff/limelight stuff he wants to sell and when he does so something remotely different (like step in on an argument or lock a thread) he can come over as very abrupt and rude and I am not the only one that thinks that so I really don't mind stating my opinion.

Shane T was the only other moderator that was really around to do the dirty work daily, he was and will probably always hold the title of the coolest moderator on RS - even though he is no longer part of the team!

Moderating is a crap unpaid job we all know it but as Edd said, what is the point of being one if you don't bother? Just so you can have a green name? :lol:

Just a quick note to say that being a MOD may seem a little like a thankless job sometimes, but Im sure that everyone is thankful and its just not vocalsied enough.
