Hi all,

I've had a look over previous posts on the subject but cant find an answer to my question so
I was hoping someone on here could point me in the right direction.

As of last week I left the UK & will be living in Ireland for the foreseeable future.
Is anyone on here a non-UK resident with an insured collection in the UK?
If so who do you use as Hiscox say they cant insure my collection anymore due to my non-UK status.
I've emailed an insurance broker so I will see what they say....just wanted to see if anyone had 1st hand experience.

Cheers

if your items individually are not above 1k in value your home insurance should cover it, usually paypal receipts are good enough, when i called mine they said either proof of purchase or an independent verification would be enough, maybe UKG could provide a service?

Its best to check with your home insurance, take loads of pictures and store digital copies of your expenditure, also previous sales on ebay can sometimes be used as a guide.

If your items are worth over 1k each you may need separate insurance

My insurance company refused to insure my collection.

In fact it is even written into the contract that the collection is not covered.

I went to a specialist broker Greenfields I think it was.

They arranged insurance, didn't batter an eyelid when I said what it was for (I'm guessing because it's one thing they specialise in) didn't require a valuation or anything.

And a lot cheaper than go through any other broker I tried

Hi,

Thanks for the reply's.
S.S. - did you speak to Greenfields or was the cover arranged on-line?
They were mentioned them a while ago (by you I think) so I emailed them last week but I've not had a reply.

Cheers,
