Here is their 'advice' to us:
Tariff Classification cannot give general advise on the classification of Vintage Toys, therefore not all vintage toys would fall under Commodity Code 9705000090. Each case would have to be looked at on an individual basis, taking into account: (a) if it is over 30 years old, (b) if it is still in the box, (c) it's rarity (d) condition etc. For toys that may be over 30 years old, but not considered to meet the aforementioned criteria may still be classified in Heading 9503 as follows: https://www.gov.uk/trade-tariff/headings/9503?country=&day=12&month=1&year=2016
