I'm the taller child on the left holding the rebel cruiser. I won a competition in the Leamington Spa Courier and won £25 to spend at Jordans toystore (its now a fireworks store, still called jordans). It was a star wars haven for me.
I got to meet darth Vader and as usual I was being a cheeky bugger and he strangled me.. I can remember him being a little too strong. I did get an autograph on special Darth Vader headed paper. I still have it.
Anyway, I didn't choose the rebel cruiser, thats the prize the smaller kid got, I went for the x-wing and the two lightsabres, which Darth is modelling. For the photographer I held the larger box as it was a bit too big for the short fellow and was almost as tall as him.
How weird that photo appeared on that forum, which I knew nothing about until coming on here. I'll try and see if the original pic is somewhere (my mother always got the original photo if anyone appeared in the press).
