I think i've been scammed on RS.

Hi everyone,

I bought an ESB Droid Factory from RJD2 on RS on 6th october.He initially wanted $55 OBO plus shipping so i asked him what would be his best price & he replied saying it would be $59.50 inc shipping.

Thinking this was a reasonable price i paid RJD2 straight away by paypal gift & he said he would ship the item when the funds had cleared(which was the 9th of october).Knowing that it can take up to 2 weeks for shipping to reach the UK,i wasn't too concerned to begin with.

I pm'd him through RS last weekend asking when he posted the item & received a read message receipt on sunday 18th october but no reply.I emailed him on tuesday 20th october but received no reply & i pm'd him again through RS last night & received another read message receipt this morning & guess what no reply again! :twisted:

I think it speaks volumes that this guy is not replying to my messages so do i call him out on RS now or do i leave it a bit longer?I've never encountered this problem before so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It says that he's from the SF Bay area, so it seems he's an American with a Dutch name, not a Dutchman.

Mark I can't find any feedback for him on RS which sucks. Perhaps contact all the people that have posted on his for sale thread to see if they have received anything. I have had a few NOT so perfect transactions on RS but they have worked out in the long run. This is not your first far from ideal deal on RS either( dodgy Y-wing if I remember correctly). I'd give it a week and then post on his for sale thread something polite like" I paid on the xxxx, please confirm you have posted my item(s)" I have 2 transactions around the same time frame as yours and I am still waiting.

Definitely bump up his topic Mark with a "anyone heard from this guy, I paid on xx date" like James said

If you get anyone else doing the same and the guy doesn't reply or the items arrive then go to the watch out section and create a post for the guy to explain himself.

If I was him I wouldn't want it to get to that situation so if I noticed the FS thread get some messages I would clear things up.

Hope it gets sorted mate, there is the shipping time which can be a while but there is no excuse for not replying to messages when you know he is reading.

Some people don't bother with feedback threads and just let there name do the talking. I don't think I have heard of this guy what's his post count like?

I got to agree there is nothing worse than getting a read recipt and no reply especially when they have your money and you don't have the item yet. Its real bad manners but many do it.

James it was a b wing i bought from pauly but he was an absolute gent about the matter.

Jay,i think RJD2 has about 70 posts on RS.

I contacted Rock who pm'd RJD2 about his x wing but he said he didn't buy it & hoped it would work out for me.

I wouldn`t stress but I would check how he is shipping that. I highly doubt that is being sent airmail, insured or signed for at that price. He may be a complete mug, but shipping on that airmail with insurance is going $50ish

Update:I received an email from RJD2(Peter)yesterday.He was very apologetic & said he had some personal problems that he was dealing with & that he would post the droid factory asap.I never thought i'd hear from him again so hopefully he will come through.

I know you paid from your bank account however, you can do a charge back if you paid by credit card using gift. (At least I can with my credit card company).
