i need help restoring my 12 inch ig-88

does anyone have a spare belt/bandolier for the 12 inch ig-88, or the next best thing would be a photo as i could repro it if i knew what it looked like.. .... :wink:

ive got the bombs and guns ,but no belt

your a star , thats great,, iam a bit miffed to how i can knock up one of these i didnt expect tings like the like pockets to be part of the details ,, ohh well i''ll give it a go...

does anyone know what the material the belt is ?? is it plastic or leather??

it looks like URETHANE to me

u could carve a flat belt out of wood or use moulding wax

then u could cast over that with silicone mold

then u can use the mold to cast urethane into it

use a low "shore hardness" since the lower the bendier

u know a snowtrooper rifle yeh... it slightly bends but is still quite stiff
thats 60D shore hardness (durometer)

so maybe 45D would be flexy enough to make a belt


just an idea lol

might be easier to use a bike innertube and just cut a skinny length of it
u can get latex innertubes that are a light grey or red colour too they might be ok

im a newbie to casting

ive run out of silicone tho at the mo and i only got 60D URETHANE

its like Ã'£25 a pot including carriage so not cheap

some of the URETHANE's can take pigments so u can change the colours to what u want

it would be nice to mold an original tho.. but then if u had it you wouldnt need to make one lol

all i have made is a white custom bluestars rifle...

cocoFstar should have one by tomorrow if the post gets there in time.

i think if u used an innertube from a bike u could cut slots with a scapel and slot the bombs into it so it looks like the pic on fleabay


if that looks **** u can use that to use as a measure to see how long u need it to be to wrap the torso.

u could make a mock one out of molding wax flat and pour silicone on it to make a mold.

u may even be able to use the same silicone to mold the belt after so it will be a rubber belt..

it could be a project to look at but i need to buy materials first.
