I 'just' need the expensive ones...!

Hi all

Joined the forums today after a good few year on and off eBay looking to add to my collection.

Require the following figures;
- Yak Face
- R2D2 with Pop-up Sabre
- Carbonite for the last 17 Han Solo. i.e. I have the figure but no carbonite.

- Blue Snaggletooth, although I think this would be stretching my budget too far at the minute.

My vehicle / playset collection is by no means complete so I'll simply list a few that I would like as oppose to an exhaustive list of everything I need;

- At-At. Santa always seemed to forget this one when I was a child! Lol
- Twin Pod
- Dewback
- Y-Wing
- Rebel Transport
- Desert Sail Skiff

- Imperial Shuttle, again this one would simply be out of my price range at the minute.

(None of my collection is boxed, so the loose versions are all I'm really after)

I bought an Imperial Troop Transport off eBay recently, and although I'm willing to accept some wear and tear on the vehicles - I found that when it arrived it was in a very poor state. This is what drove me to search out these forums, in that I'm looking to deal with more honest enthusiasts.

You might be better off buying the combo and selling the surplus figure on. Wink wink.

But serious. It's a hard to find and expensive accessory.

The majority of my collection is mine from when I was a child. Then around 5 years ago I decided to try and expand on it.
I'd just grown out of Star Wars as the Last 17 came out originally so I didn't have any of them. Over the course of 6 months I bought 15 of them from eBay and a number of vehicles and playsets.
Then then whole thing was put on hold again as our two children came along, and it is only over the last few weeks that I have began actively looking again. I'm quite shocked at how some of the prices have changed since that period 5 years ago.

Anyway, after seeing the 'collections' part of the forum and your suggestion to photograph everything I decided to drag everything out of the loft this morning. I'm actually ashamed to say that I'd forgotten exactly what I owned! There's stuff I'm watching and have been bidding on, that I already have!!! e.g. Dewback, Imperial Attack Base, Land of The Jawas. I must have bought these, then when they arrived immediately put them in the loft.

It is REALLY good to see it all in the flesh again, so to speak, and I think I might make the effort to re-assemble everything fully to get some proper photographs.

Reasonable pricing is what it will all come down to now with a family and a house extension on the go...!

Thought it was about time I updated this thread following a few recent purchases and some helpful PM's from other forum members;

FIGURES
The main figure I'm now after is Yak Face. As mentioned above, my collection isn't what I'd class as in mint condition so I'm not after highly graded Yak Face or anything. A 'played' with example at a reasonable price is what I'm looking for.
Would still love a Blue Snaggletooth in similar condition, but price wise I think I'm kidding myself at the minute.

I've taken on board the advice on the Han Solo Carbonite, i.e. I'm better off just biting the bullet and getting another figure which comes complete with the carbonite as the carbonite is difficult to source on it's own.
This figure seems to come up quite often so it's not top of my list compared to Yak Face.


VEHICLES
Still require an At-At, Y-Wing and Desert Sail Skiff.

As well as Imperial Tie Fighter (white), Darth Vader's Tie Fighter and Star Destroyer.

There are other's I would really like, but as with Snaggletooth Blue I see them as being out of my price range at the minute; Tatooine Skiff, Imperial Shuttle, Tie Interceptor.
