So I finally landed something of a grail piece for me at a price I could afford. Won it on ebay for £390 all in.

Asked for it to be sent Special Delivery and WELL PACKED. This is what landed this morning:

No outer protection AT ALL!!!! Nothing, any pressure on the 'package' would result in the box being damaged, which it was :(

Also, despite the seller being asked if there was any damage aside from what little could be seen in the pics, he mentioned nothing about the end flap being held on with nothing but sellotape.

I still wanted to keep it as I can repair the damage to the box. Luckily, after contacting the seller, they have agreed to a £50 partial refund and to send any further items out in boxes with adequate protection.

So this little gem cost me £340 and is only missing 2 clips and the stands :) :) :)

Gutted for you Mark, thankfully there wasn't more damage!

That's just pure laziness on the sellers part, sometimes when I sell something,if I don't have a suitable box I'll wait a few days until I get one!

Another ebay idiot but at least you got some money back. Great item to have though and the clips should be fairly easy to come by. As for the stands, they are on the expensive side ( although it's the going rate), but you could put the refund into them from flycasual.

Really pleased you scored one and the canopy looks to be pretty clear. :D

Sorry mate to see the bad packing. Any normal person would mail that one in a box

Lazy useless stupid ebay sellers  but at least you got a refund and the damage was minimal :)

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know to stick it in another box but oh well some money back, good on yer.

Thanks fellas.

if someone had bought something from me for nearly £400 I'd make damn sure it was well packed. I watched the postman get out of his van this morning and bring it up the drive, my heart sank because I knew what it was and had every belief that anyone stupid enough to use bubble wrap on the outside would not have the common sense to use a box - it's really quite unbelievable.

But as you say, it's not the end of the world, got a piece I want at a good price so on to the next addition!

Mark, It looked pretty good in person when I saw it today so congrats on your latest pickup. As for the stands as promised i'll ask a friend for you.

Cheers mate, great to see you today :) Looking forward to a proper chat next month - with beers!!!

And thanks for the heads up on those stands ;) Keep me posted.

You literally have to spell it out to people, most aren't as anal as us and don't even realise the packaging is delicate, so it's not malicious or even lazy. As long as they use a bit of bubble wrap they think they've done a good job. I always put a note on any MOC purchase to ask for it to be sent in a well padded box.

you are lucky tbh i surprised it came in that good condition, if you sell something for £400 you must know it needs proper packing...unreal.

That is terrible. Have had something similar happen with other items.

They clearly figure that it's already in a box, so why bother!!

OMFG! That is hard to believe is that - initial reaction was 'thats a joke' but sure its true.

Even if someone new little about sw collecting the fact that 390 had been paid for it would warrant a box you would think. It is lucky it looks like it had an easy ride - it could have got well fkd up.

Very nice item and I feel quite jealous BTW

WD m8!
