Hey guys. Basically I sold a lot of 47 vintage used figures on ebay yesterday.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181187594581?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1561.l2649

I specifically put payment expected within 24 hours as I need to pay for a few things myself, I owe andy the money for his factory error snow trooper I asked him to put aside for me.
Its gone 24 hours now, and I'm still waiting for payment. I wouldn't mind so much, but the fact is they sniped last minute. It annoys me they are quick enough to snipe last minute but slow to pay even though I requested payment within 24 hours.

Am I being pedantic, or am I justified in feeling pissed off?

To be honest mate, 24 hours is probably a bit much to expect - people tend to ignore those sorts of things unless it is an eBay rule.

Why don't you just drop him a polite message asking when he will be paying and explain that you could do with it ASAP

Given your mention of 24 hours i think 3 days should be cut off point. I'd email tomorrow warning that the items will be relisted and an unpaid case will be open the following day.

3 days i go by! but if someone wins last second why dont they pay then and there thats what i do

Lots of folk use snip/auction sentry type tools & then totally forget they even put a bid in, technology ain't it wonderful, I always state payment within 48 hours on mine, but some don't pay for 3 or 4 days which is a PITA as i am nowhere near a PO & try to get each weeks sales out in one go, sadly it never seems to work out that way :| but I like the others would say 72 hours is an ideal cut off, but try contacting them explaining you state 24 hours in the listing & that payment sooner rather than later would be appreciated as you have things to pay for yourself, but politely as you know ebay & how easy your feedback is destroyed by morons & ebays total lack of sympathy for sellers.

Good luck!

I'd say 3 days, asking someone to pay within 24hrs is a bit over the top.

Not everybody lives on their computer. :)

I don't live on my computer, but if I'm gonna snipe last second on ebay, I do pay straight away. And I have always paid within 24 hours if people have put that was required in the description. Ive always felt that it would be disrespectful and a little insulting if I did otherwise, and shouldn't be bidding in the first place if I didn't adhere to their payment requests. I wouldn't mind if people contact me prior and say they're gonna be a little late paying or whatever. I've let people wait a few days before paying in the past. I just think if its part of the description, that payment should be delivered within 24 hours, it certainly isn't over the top. They are bidding knowing that is part of the transaction, an agreed time frame of which to pay.

I've sent an invoice yesterday, and a polite message now. Hopefully hear back something soon.

I can only speak for myself, but if I'm bidding on eBay, its normally at the end. If I win, I just click on pay now. It takes 2 minutes. I can never understand why late bidders don't pay straight away, or sometimes at all.
I'd message him, to remind him but I think he's out of order if you put payment in 24 hours.
eBay should set it up where if you're the winning bidder, payment is automatically taken at the end of the auction. This would stop all these late/non payers.
