I have for the last 15 years stored my loose figures in zip lock bags. I have noticed that some of the figures have a sticky feel to them and some have mould! It looks like plastic detioration!

I have now removed them from the plastic hell but justing them loose in a box? What does every one else do?

I stored mine on Pro Tech stands, I would presume its a good thing to punch a hole in the bags if they are to be stored long term to make them able to "breathe"

I guess some of the members here who have been storing loose ones will have more on the subject.

yeah deffo ensure that there are holes in the bags, the plastic does need to breath. If you dont it seems it can speed up the degrading process of the plastic and also ruin the paint work.

If you are going to take them out the bags and store them loose, i would wrap them in tissue paper or paper towel to stop them knocking into eachother and ruining the paint work.

:)

I've got all my loosies pinned up on the rafters in the loft all in zip bag thingys and have been for years. Never had a hole in, never had a problem. Surely there was no air getting to MOC bubbles that were on shop displays for some years and they never deteriorated did they? Maybe the temp up there changes so drastically it evens itself out. When it's boiling it's 3 times as hot up there and when it's cold outside it's effing freezing up there, almost to the point of having to put extra jumpers on lol

Good thread! I have my loose figures displayed on several shelves at the moment. Will get a display cabinet at some point (stop them getting dusty)
:D

I started with a small book case. Now I use the ikea detolf cabinets, they are perfect for the job. But for me it's about displaying them instead of storing :D

I agree - I like to display them rather than store

At the minute all of my loose are in multiple bags and boxes, until i get my first Deltof cabinet for Christmas. Then i can spend boxing day getting them sorted in said cabinet.........and then waiting for more cabinets as i really dont think they'll fit in one

My modest figure collection is housed in a wall mounted Ikea cabinet, modified with extra shelves and with solid (not glass) doors so my little 'un can't see in!
