Does anyone on here know about the following....

Where I can find the floor plans for a property I might be interested in buying?

How I can find out whether i can carry out certain developments on a property before i buy?

The Council Planning Department Mr Smith.

If you go in you should be able to search the planning history of a property and dig out the files for particular planning applications (which should also contain the plans). With some Councils you can now do this on-line (which Council area is it?).

As for what you can and can't do you can make an appointment to see a planning officer, usually the duty officer for the day. It helps to have some ideas or drawings of what you have in mind before you see them.

If you want to email me some details of where the plot is I can give you some background info

I know several.

Though one of them isn't local.

Pity really, could have paid him in MOC

HI mate. saw your response in the above thread and hoping that you are actually a planning consultant thought i would pick your brains about a house i am thinking if buying.

Hope you dont mind

It is quite straight forward. The house has a double basement that has been converted by the current owner and just wondered if this is something that requires planning consent or sign off by a building inspector etc.

Hope you can help and point me in the right direction

Steve
