Since I started collecting again, this is the first accessory that's left me unsure as to its authenticity.

Looking at TIG https://www.imperialgunnery.com/vinylcapesskirts.htm its pretty insistent on a cross hatch on one side and a rough texture on the other.

In the pictures the one side is rough but the other feels smoother than I'd expect and I'm not seeing a cross hatch. To its credit the holes are perfectly circular and the cut between them perfectly aligned. The outside cut of the cape is very uniform and it looks quite grubby and played with.

The TIG pictures of the cross hatch aren't very defined in fairness so I'm just not sure. Any thoughts either way? Given the overall cost of the figure was about 80% cape, 20% figure it would be nice to know!

Apologies if this isn't the forum to post such a query, I did have a quick check around the others.

Can't say definitively with that one from the pics but I'm not sure about the grain in that bottom pic. Not seen anything like that original but seen similar on repro. Would file that in the possible repro bag IMO. Happy to be proved wrong though.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm not 100% either way but tend to agree it doesn't look right.

I want to buy a few more in time to kit out the ATAT so I'll hang on to it for now. I just contacted the seller and he was sound, took immediate responsibility and offered a really good partial refund, so happier now. Quoted this thread too which always helps prove you're not just trying it on :D

Maybe its the image or my eyes but the texture seems a little bit more pronounced and a faint line/imprint caused by the template and cutting process.

Plenty of others fare more experienced than me but i'm leaning towards it being a repro. Glad you are able to sort something out with the seller though, that's the important thing.
