I have a happy story to share with you all today :)

So just before Christmas, I sold a hot toys Superman figure on eBay, which sold for £160. Payment came through and the next day I posted it using Parcelforce. The delivery address was Kingston University.

Fast forward 3 weeks later I had a message from the buyer saying that they hadn't received the parcel yet.
I checked the tracking and it said that it was delivered but without a signature. I called Parcelforce who told me that yes it had been delivered.

After several messages with the buyer, I believed him when he said that he hadn't received it. This guy has a PhD in Superman (no word of a lie) So I refunded him and felt good knowing that I did the right thing.

I received a message from the buyer today saying that Parcelforce had just delivered Superman and he would be sending my money back to me :)

So sometimes there are decent people out there. The guy could have just kept quiet and walked away with the figure and money... but he decided to do the right thing like I had. Tonight I will open up a beer and spare a moment of thought to people being honest.

That's a great story, thanks for sharing, and so different from your other post about eBay and the Imperial Dignity that you tried to buy.
Enjoy the beer!

It's always nice to hear a story like this. There are a few honest ones out there (and I suspect more than just a few), but they often get drowned out by all the scumbags.

I can't better your story, but I have had more than one eBay seller unexpectedly give me a partial postage refund in the past because the amount stated on the auction was more than it actually cost them to post :).

He was a really nice guy and appreciated the fact that I believed him enough to issue the refund in the first place. eBay, on the other hand, insisted that I didn't need to issue a refund as the tracking showed the item as delivered.

So it turned out that the person making the deliveries that day decided to zap all the parcels as delivered to save a little bit time, before delivering the parcels to the university.... but unfortunately forgot to deliver mine. So when the driver got back to the depot, he had taken my parcel (which was marked as delivered) and left it on the 'to be collected shelf.'

What a quality employee!

its cunts like that delivery driver that cause the problems ****er should be sacked, hermes are just as thick hence why I never use them but I bought something off ebay the other day and the seller used hermes, it was a 100 quid moc and he left it next to my shed for any ****er to steal, just as well I'm an honest person otherwise I could have argued I did not receive it, royal mail FTW

Agree i hate hermes

If the seller is using Hermes it's enough for me not to buy from them - absolutely useless ****ers that are no strangers to a game of parcel football!!!!!!!

Good story considering the amount of money involved, there are a few good buyers and sellers out there.

I also don't rate Hermes.
I've had a few items delivered in the past by them:
One item was just dropped over my front gate.
Another item was left in my green bin full of food and garden waste which is left out the front of my house.
Nothing major but nonetheless the driver must have signed them himself to save time.
I have stuff delivered to my work address now. I always find having a company name on the parcel helps proper delivery.

Half assed delivery drivers do my head in! Summer last year, me and my girlfriend Jade ordered a PS4. We expected it to be delivered on a day she had the doctors, so I made arrangements that the neighbour would keep an eye out and sign for it. We get back and no PS4 but it's marked as delivered. Weird, we think. Jade looks further into it and says she thinks the signature online looks like her bosses name as she works in a convenience store. She rings up her workplace and sure enough it was there. The driver had called by her workplace to see if she was there, and when she wasn't he had just got her manager to sign for it and left it out the back in the staff room/kitchen. A £200 games console just left for anyone to spill tea on, under the table. Her manager shouldn't have signed for it, but he shouldn't have left it there considering she wasn't working that day, and it was not the address he was supposed to deliver it to. We were both pissed off as he hadn't even tried delivering it to the house as the time that it was signed for, we hadn't even left yet and we were still at home.

Great experience with a decent guy. Thanks for sharing. Put's the faith level up in humanity. :)
