Bit of a long shot this, but I'm hoping some UK-based collectors on here will be able to help... :)

I got into collecting vintage SW during 1993-95, and I purchased a few carded figures through mail order. I didn't buy many, but most of those I did buy were from one person in particular, which I found in 'Model Mart' magazine. I sent off for a catalogue and received a photocopied price list of around 8-12 pages - I'm pretty sure it was A5 folded in half, but it may well have been A4 folded in half. I'm sure it had a hand-drawn piece of artwork on the front page. The guy dealt in carded and loose figures, which were listed first, as well as vehicles, playsets etc...

I realise this probably describes almost all people selling SW figures at the time(!!), but does anyone have any ideas about who this might be? I'd love to see some of the price lists, purely for nostalgia's sake!

Was it:

The Twilight Zone?
Antonio Emchowicz?
Global Collectables?
Thanks for the reply. It wasn't any of those unfortunately, but now I think it might have been something along the lines of 'Galactic Emporium' (but definitely not the shop in the Lake District).

It came to me on the drive home from work tonight - I'm almost certain they were called 'Galactic Toys', or something very similar.

I bought MOC Lando Skiff and Han Trench Coat, both unpunched ROJ cards. Still have them - Lando bubbles a bit yellowed but otherwise they're in excellent condition.

Could it have been Intergalactic Junk? I used to get their catalogue sent to me quarterly from Cornwall. I got my first 12 back from them for £20 in 1991 - C-3PO. I remember thinking that was very expensive at the time!

It was! Thanks James, it's been bugging me for ages and I thought I'd got it with 'Galactic Toys'. I remember seeing the 12/20 backs listed for around £30 and thinking I wish I could afford them (I was a student at the time).

You don't still have any of the catalogues do you? Just for nostalgia's sake!!

I don't have any of the catalogues but do remember that the guy who sent them out was called Kevin Dickey and I used to phone him to reserve items and then pay by cheque for things. There were never any photos of the items listed in the catalogue but I never had any problems with items condition-wise. I wonder what happened to Intergalactic Junk? The catalogues stopped arriving in 2001 so I guess Kevin gave up after the over production of Episode 1 stuff or something.

It was the same for me James - everything I bought from him was always as described. I always looked forward to receiving the next catalogue, even if I didn't end up buying anything.

Thanks to all for helping out and humouring a newbie :)
