hi guys

im new to this. ive collected memorabilia all my life and im 30 in a few weeks and i want to buy something nice.i have my heart set on an early bird set but although i know a bit you all know a lot more than me.if i cant find one soon i may switch to buying a few 12 backs. i just wondered the following.

1.Where the best place to get one is?
2. how much should i pay for one?
3. is there anything to look out for in particular?

ive been offered a sealed set and figures for £3800. is that high?

thanks for all your help

paul

stick to forums swfuk, rebelscum build trust have a bit of banter there are forums too for this kinda thing. avoid ebay for high end cards unless graded and if they are check the ref number on the afa or ukg website too confirm authenticy. ebay is riddled with fakes these days.

Thanks for your help. im always learning so it's nice to gain knowledge from real collectors.

I would say that's pretty high for an EB Set. Is it graded? Is it a DT set? Is it a transition set? If it is graded, what grade is it?

I would get pics and post them in the valuation thread.

If you need 12 backs, let me know I have a few for sale!

Good luck,

Bram

Never rush in, do some research, and definitely stick to the forums, you will get plenty of advice, and if you deal with guys on the forum, you will get the real deal!

Always take your time especially with a special piece, there is a ton of reference material on the forums and you will get good solid advice.

Good luck with the hunt :)

This is sound advice.

Patience patience and more patience.

Do a bit of research, on what you want to buy, how much you want to spend and what you want to spend it on. Look at sellers and take your time to get what you want.

EB sets don't come up frequently, but they do come up. Wait for the right set at the right price. 12 backs are all over the place price wise at the moment but they do come up for sale quite frequently in a range of conditions and prices. Thats where the patience bit comes in.

Good luck with your quest. If you have any more questions fire away and the forum will be keen to answer.
