help milenium falcon sound motor set up

Hi
i'm in the process of renovating my milenium falcon and was wondering if anybody could help me with the set up of the motor for the gun sound, not sure about it, when i opened it up i found a broken elastic band and wondered if this was part of it at the moment the wheel on the motor sits on top of a plastic flap but this don,t seem right.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is the last thing i need to fix

just the motor with a wheel with teeth and an arm attached to it, and a white strip of plastic screwed down underneath it.???

maybe the elastic band just held the motor to a fixing bracket maybe?

I don't remember there being an elastic band in there. All the motor has is a toothed gear which spins against the plastic strip so you get the noise. Its the same on the B-Wing, X Wing and Tie Fighters.

ok mate ...heres what you need to start !!

wirewool or a scouring pad and a sharp blade ! (use the sharp blade to scratch any tricky hard to get bits of rusty corrosion)

WD-40 (thats not a droid)

check theres a small white plastic contact that should run over the plastic cog....then

check your wires are all conected to each metal contact..if there loose then let me know and i will tell you a couple of ways to fix it ..
then..
rub down the battery conections (even if they look like they dont need it)
with WD-40, this has metal particals in it and helps the electrical conection....
(keep the top open )
once youve done that get the motor (the top by the little cog) and spray a tiny amount into the holes on the top (WD-40), NOT TO MUCH THOUGH.. then turn the top of the cog to get the WD-40 well covered on the inside put in your batterys and then push your finger on the button which is on the battery cover and turn the cog on top at the same time ...keep doning this for about 2-3 minutes...if that doesnt work then let me know

p.s make sure to check the small exposed wires inbetween the battery conections and the wire plastic as sometimes these have excess corrosion that stops the connection :wink:

:lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: there all the same really....the main one thats hard to fix is the imperial transporter...thats a bastard to get going if thats not working....thats got a very small white record in it which has the sound bite on....its like a mini record player...

The Imperial Transport is a bugger, I've done one of those before. If you play the soundbytes backwards on the little record player slowly they say things like 'satan' and 'kill yourself child'. Did you know that? :wink:

Be careful using WD-40 as it can stain the plastic if it drips out of the motor sometimes. A bit of graphite from a pencil does the same job on the motors and the bearings.
