Hd tv

Just treated myself to a 26 inch HD ready lcd tv which is pretty nifty
even has freeview installed into it and has a interface slot in the back for top up cards and so forth but noiw im skint for the next two months but everyone needs to treat themselves once in a while

Some of the quality isnt as good as i hoped for but brought it mainly to play my games on and tested out revenge of the sith on it and the sound and pic is awesome

who else has one and what do they think ?

Ours is a 36" (I think) HD, but we don't have a HD source. Closest we've come is my brother's Xbox 360 but I can't tell the difference.

nope just been too lazy to post recently

Nice Angel i not got mine in the wall, ever sine i saw a bit of emmerdale where one came off the wall i been hesistant only crap think with mine if i sit on the floor to watch it, the screen becomes darker so have to be on an even level or higher so that i get the full effect

I got one last year after selling of my SW lego.
Haven't seen anything in actual HD yet, but DVD's are cool although the screen goes weird in certain flashing lights (like the old sparkle explosions of 70's 80's tv shows - and only on US dvds).

Interesting you say yours gets darker when you look up for it - mine lightens up when looking at it from the side.

Also close up its not great but I guess your not mean't to sit 6 inches away from the screen.

Only real problem I have - we only had a limited space to fit it in and its hard to judge the size of them in the shops. I could had a bigger one

Same here if too close it looks all blotchy but if i am a bit away from it its really clear

what annoys me is i got it to play my game on so i could see all the backgrounds nice and big but it looks pixely close up which defeats the object lol so now i got to sit on my bed to get the full effect will be cool when something is actually shown on HD to get best effect

My parents have just got a smaller 26" Sharp one and it has a great picture although they don't have Sky HD yet so you cannot really tell much difference in quality.

It makes me laugh when people get screens which are too big for their rooms, a bit like the 42 inch screen in the camper in Max and Paddy

The picture quality is often matched to the viewing distance so you need a fair size room for anything above 36 inch otherwise it can look too digital. We've got a Toshiba 26 inch which is a nice set.

i agree ,it takes over the room,we had a 10ft be 14 ft extension put on for kids and got a 26 inch telly but took it back and got 20 and it looks loads better

Do you know that is the first thing my mates wanted to see on the screen. Here was me with my movie collection, wanted to show them Star Wars, Gladiator etc; all they wanted to see was porn. But yes porn is pretty good on there, not that i watch porn that much :wink:

Yep they are B&W and they go loud, i have a good amp driving them as well.

The room was actually a cellar that i had converted about 2 and half years ago.
