My SW/Lego room has had a bit of a wiff for a week or so, went in to clean up thinking the damn cat might have left a mouse in there or something and Bugger, I found mould on the back of a few of my posters and a few other things, all in I lost a pair of special edition Uk quads (New Hope and Return) and a pair of Harry Potter 1 sheets. Frames and backings are a right off but there is some hope the mounted pictures can be saved.

Just hope I caught the mould in time and have sprayed, wiped and am now airing out the room, dehumidifier coming tomorrow, no damp anywhere, which is good, but people dumped all sorts in stuff in the room in the run up to Christmas, treating it like a dumping ground, so my money is on a damp thing being thrown in and since the room is always closed, no circulation etc, so cold grabbed it and there you go... Luckily figures are all cases and Lego is ok, so damage should be minimal... Figures crossed.

A dehumidifier is a good idea, but I think circulation is key to keeping moisture at bay.
Good luck with saving the posters.

Indeed.

Doors are now been left open and exterior doors as well to get some good flow going or now.

I think the worst thing to come from this is the realisation that i can't keep collections boxed up, if there is no room to display i really need to let them go... the thought of real damage happening is too much...

That really is a good philosophy, difficult to put into practice though!
