I am sure i have seen a program on this about some states in the US, it might have been Texas or Arizona where members of some gun clubs had received awards from their club if they shot a burglar.

When i was over there in Nov there was a news article about a person in Texas who lived in a nice suburban area who shot and killed two youths who were causing damge and maybe going to rob his neighbours house whilst his neighbour was away. He rang the police who were taking their time in responding, he sounded angry and distraught about what was going on and actually said i am going to kill them, then bang you heard the shots. The debate on the news wasnt about the two who were killed but how the guy was driven to it due to recent crimes in the area, and that he probably did the right thing :shock:

If you did that over here the police would arrest you and the CPS would have you up in court on a double murder charge in 20 mins.
Even if the two youths had left notes saying they were going to kill your neighbour and were 2 seconds away from slitting his throat...........you would still be the one done for it. :roll:

You also may be watching too many films. Not all of us yanks are killers and armed to the teeth. Just like not all you brits are secret agents like James Bond or live on the Monty Python set. :lol:

Pretty much the same as you have. If they brake into your home, you have the right to defend yourself. You have to feel you have no other choice than to kill them and they must be inside your home for you to do that without going to prison (It cant look like they were running away from you).
