David Tree said:Why would I be pissed about someone taking my digital copyright after spending countless hours researching and my own personal money saving these from film and getting them transferred digitally?
Why would I be upset that it took nearly eighteen months to do it and there's not even any reference or credit for bringing this back into the public domain?
This exercise in the end still owes me just over £600.
Many of these adverts would still be distant memories for those if they could even remember they existed, but as long as everyone gets what they want, who cares?
Best of all, this will be someone I directly dealt with as I handled all the sales. What many people don't realize is that this approach prevents me from working on other projects, and trust me, there is some awesome stuff out there still.

Can I ask what happens with the copyrights on these? I take it they belong to Hasbro through the various acquisitions, did they grant permissions? Are they not bothered about them or does it fall under the not for profit use?

David Tree said:In this sense permission was granted through Hasbro under archival purposes otherwise it would be lost forever with copies being made for Hasbro, one to LFL, one to V&A and one to the British Library. As no-one would finance the project, the idea was to cover the cost of transfer through this .... but the fandom were to prove me wrong, which is why you've not seen any further volumes.
