Grading of Toytoni cardbacks by UKG

Whats really interesting is that UKG have been grading toytoni cardbacks and cards sealed in the 90's? why is this? (if you see in the film at the beginning he says the one with blue UKG sticker is toytoni sealed cardback from 90's) I thought the whole idea of grading a figure is to keep the crap from being graded? can UKG not tell the difference between a genuine kenner/palitoy and 90's sealed cardback? UKG should be sending these cardbacks back to the customer and telling them its a fake and we cannot grade it for you? but ive seen so many UKG graded toytoni cardbacks for sale on ebay I feel that you cant be 100% sure that UKG graded star wars cardbacks are genuine! So far though I haven't seen any AFA graded toytoni stuff so think AFA are better to trust when buying and selling graded cardbacks.

much more i afa graded tonis than UKG ones, i in my time owned more ROTJ fetts graded by AFA than i care to remember and all Tonis most prob

I would also suggest that UKG got sent a lot of these as they were bought from Toni who was UK based - but certainly hundreds of TTs in AFA cases

Would be interesting to hear an update from AFA / UKG on the situation ?

Here's the blurb from the presentation I did:-

"AFA graded over 1000 Toni's from 2000 to 2013. No population report is available for UKG. They have been grading since 2008 so have been grading Tonis for 5 years verses 13 years for AFA."

I reckon there are several hundred UKG graded Toni's.

All of these pieces were considered legit by the community until Dec 2013.

I can't believe you have dug out poor Steve ,surely everyone was fooled ? Before this whole scandal broke I asked the question how come there was **** loads of graded 85 Rotj fetts ,because you couldn't find a SW fett you couldn't find a ESB fett and yet there was always 3 or 4 a week on eBay of minty fresh Rotj fetts wich I bought a few and thankfully sold before the scandal broke ,but someone knew because the values was dropping that's why I sold mine ,then the bombshell scandal was dropped ,I'm sure a few die hard collectors knew what was what ,think of all that wasted dough ,it's a shame because not even myself will buy another Rotj carded figure ,the damage is done for me ,I'll just buy the SW and ESB carded figures nowadays
