Only 200 quid overpriced this time! Nice one Goldie :D

Sure? Seller always maintains his innocence when that is brought up! :D

shill bidding?

you get a friend or a couple of them to bid on the item to drive the price right up which then either makes other people bid as they see it is going for a lot and think it must be worth bidding on OR you get a mate to bid on it to drive up an original bidders maximum bid.

If they win the item then the seller hasn't really lost out as they can then just re-list it in a few weeks and then hope that people don't make the connection!

I've never done this ( :? ) but I did read somewhere that some guy went to prison for a few weeks (months maybe?) after being found guilty of doing this.

it was a guy from the north east, he was trading in transit vans and parts if i remember correctly, had two accounts both to the same address so he had not even tried to be cute about it, pretty sure there was a lot of complaints and they (ebay etc) went out there way to make an example of him

Yeah i'm not surprised he got caught! About 5-6 years ago I worked for Warwickshire Police as a 999 call handler and I remember there being a Inspector that I usually worked alongside. One day he said that he had banned from ebay for about 30 days as he was caught bumping the prices up on his own things by usign two different accounts! Dumbass

Yeah i remember that. Thieving tool got what he deserved.
I'd make him pay back 50% of everything he sold over the last 2 years too.
