Genuine variant, oddity, or common as muck? Expertise needed

Hello fellas.

I've been having a sort through some of my variants to hopefully categorise.
The bleeding obvious could be staring me in the face, but I haven't been able to find another online anywhere.

Hopefully someone will know if it's a variant, and oddity, or as common in the 80's as Michelle Haverstock giving the blokes from Kwickfit a grope round the back of the bins, for a bag of chips, and a can of Quatro!

This is a Rebel Commander i picked up a few months back from a US Ebay sale.
COO Made In Hong Kong.
He's very white, has darker boots than the rest, but not as dark as the Euro dark boot, and a very dark head strap.
But, the thing that has really stumped me with this one is his legs are considerably shorter than all of the others.
He has a very wide stance, which will obviously make him shorter, but the actual legs are a lot shorter in length than the others.

Yep, possibly. :lol:
But' it was the fact that the legs were actually a lot shorter in length that was puzzling.
The pics don't show it too well, but when you see it you really notice.

Wow, good work James. Couldn't find anything when I first got it.
I think that looks like the actual one I bought too. (paid less than $3 on a punt)

That all makes complete sense. Shrinkage would cause the splay, and as the plastic has to go somewhere so everything get's a bit fatter.

this is the second one of these short scarf figures i have owned ive bought and sold hundreds of loose figures in bulk collections looking for 90s for my collection both of the ones i owned came from the USA do you think its just a factory error then?

Yep, I agree with James.
From the Rebel Scum link he posted it looks quite clear that there must have been a batch of plastic mixed up slightly wrong, and this caused shrinkage.
Still a nice fig to have though imo.
You've made me want one of those short scarf ones to go with it now Fletch.

i sold that one only this week on ebay i put it up on ebay for £40 because of the cost of it being graded and dreaded ebay fees i dint think it would sell for that much but it sold very quickly if i ever get another ill offer up on here first
