Scraped past Belgium in the first round 1-0 and then nearly lost to Cameroon in the QFs. If it weren't for 2 penalties we would have lost and they very nearly equalised at the end to take it to ET. Then we got our first real test- Germany. We lost.

PGowdy said:Rooney was our Heskey this tournament.
PGowdy said:Yeah but i was talking about Rooney with England. Rooney at Man U is a different player. Runs every game, never misses a pass and scores goals for fun. 10/10 player. For England Rooney is useless- misplaces every pass, makes bad decisions, runs around like a headless chicken, runs out of steam early in the 2nd half and very rarely shoots let alone scores. 4/10 player.

has a good scoring record for England and is ok with the ball at his feet. He just seems to be overlooked due to his frame and the fact he now plays for Stoke
weasel said:Oh and for the record, I think I said this before the tournament, I would have given serious consideration to not taking Rooney.
