FT: Andreg´s > Loosie for MOC´s thread

Good point, even in the short time I've been collecting the prices go up and down on a weekly basis, so the value of what you have in loosies may not be what you think. Then there's someone having an moc they don't want that you do and them wanting to trade for a loosies. All complicated stuff, cash in the bank is the easiest way to get what you want. There's a lot of stuff in that collection I'd love to get my hands on.

Just as the stock market my friend :)

I´m getting the feeling you think I´ve bulked up on these loosie´s in hope of a future value increase, is that the case?

Just to be clear on this, I´m NOT investing in vintage SW....no no. I´m enjoying this vintage collecting so much that I can't get enough of it. I guess the above purchases are just "fillers" to work in favour of my adhd, otherwise I´m sure the money would be spent on booze, casino´s and other not-so-great things while waiting for new moc´s being listed :D

So, regarding the value of these things. We will see if I´ve got it right once I list them in the sales section, IF I list them that is

Cheers!

What I'm trying to say here is there are people out there who would stitch their grandmother up for a few quid. What you have there is a lot of quality stuff, as well as it being worth a few bob. You seem to be a really nice guy but you also seem to be almost addicted to this and I hate to see you lose out because people take advantage of that.

Also, being new to the market you need to be a bit careful because it's never been so inflated. Prices are artificially very high at the moment and no one knows wether it will sustain. That's all.

I will lay it on the line for you regards the other comment. This sort of collecting is guys who drop thousands in a short time and then burn out. Quite a lot of the time they get in too deep too quick and start spending beyond their means. Before you know it they I wouldn't possibly speculate on another persons finances, just hate to see it happen, and we have on more than one occasion. A couple of others have mentioned this already. This is what I meant when I said there is potentially more at stake than just collecting.

Not trying to put a downer on your collecting. It's great to see new members getting into the hobby and you seem to be enjoying it. You also have a sense of humour which is a good thing around these parts. Just remember, it's all been around for 30+ years. It's not going to disappear any time soon.

I might aswell get the ball rolling as its a dog eat dog world out there, I have a lovely Klaatu moc, clear bubble, slight tear on front of card and his left foot has popped out of the bubble overall nice card I'll swap you for a Yak :)

Already have a Klaatu but it´s yellow, so a clear one would be great. Just sent you a pm with better pics of the Yak´s!

Some nice items Andreg. Shame this thread got derailed. PM a mod to clean it up for you.

A very healthy derailing I must say. Wise things has been said so I´ll keep it like this until I update with item-per-item pictures, if that is ok?

Andreg, Scott (twistedmetal) is joking.

Nope, I WILL actually get the moc he is referring to so no joke. Contact has been established and trade is pending.....

The inflation applies on all markets. As in most of them and not just in the vintage toy one, there will always be sharks and barracudas. I think I´m pretty up-to-date with the value of these things so that´s not an issue. Oh yes I´m indeed a nice guy and addicted, but I´m addicted to a lot of stuff and not just SW. Rest assured, the only way I would be taken advantage of is if the guy I´m trading with doesn´t send me his end of the deal. I will not be trading a Yak for a Klaatu or two snuggles for any two moc´s...

I´m pretty sure I´ll burn out sooner or later and I´m already in deep, which is Andreg-standard and has always been. Spending beyond my means is my name regardless of the "market" I´m in. That´s how I like it

My friend, I know you´re not trying to trying downer my loosie´s. I really appreciated your sayings and therefore wanted to be sure that I fully understood all of what you were saying :D

Sorry to clutter up your thread even more but as a newbie that is only half way through trying to complete a loose collection I just wanted to say, OMG THOSE LOOSIES  DROOOOL!!

That's all, if you ever want to sell a few let me know and I'll definitely be interested but I don't have any MOC's whatsoever I'm afraid, although I did get a couple of tri-logo card backs with some figures recently which stirred a feeling inside me that I must suppress for the time being! :D

Oh btw,

For those of you who see this as a loose-lot for moc´s-offer has got it aaaaaaall wrong.

In here you can chose any single figure of the lot and trade it for ONE moc, or two, three, four, five, six moc´s etc. Perhaps you´re in need of a Yak? Well then you are welcome to shoot me a PM with the moc or moc´s you are willing to part with.

Perhaps you want a triple-combo? Choose 3 and tell me what you can pay for it MOC-wise :D

Hopefully you understand....

What an awful loose trade - I see not a single power droid

In this lot you don´t, correct.

Next lot coming up in short!

Just having a bit of fun mate, most know my focus figure is the little blue box & its pretty much the only figure I still buy/trade for in loose form as luckily I got my loose run done & dusted many moons ago, did not matter if you had a thousand of them anyhow as I sadly have no MOC's to trade being a baggie focus guy.

But you sure have a bucket full of great loosies, as others have suggested though, IMo you should slow down with the collection, we (the older members) have seen this kind of collecting way too many times & it usually does not end well, the fun is in the chase not just the catch & biding your time & spending time learning what you need to know is your ally in this hobby, you know the old saying - good things come to those who wait! don't burn yourself out & lose your love for it in a matter of months.
