For the Ree Yees focus collectors

I just felt that if their destiny was to yellow anyways there wasn't much point paying that premium.

I agree, nice to have but IMO you'd be mad to pay over the odds for a clear bubble on any ROTJ or POTF figure, surely it's inevitable.

I remember being offered a clear 77back with a coin offer and the seller wanted $125 for it because it was so clear, a year later I asked him if he still had it (was going to offer him less) and he took a new picture and it had yellowed..bang goes the premium!

Got a pic somewhere actually, will try to dig it out. It's quite alarming really how quick they can turn!

Edit - found it!

Can't deny it looked great clear but it would have been a complete waste of money considering it yellowed even that much in one single year!

I only collect Trilogo 8D8's now partly due to the yellow bubble thing!

You snob!

I don't mind the yellow bubbles as much. If I have a choice, then sure a clear would be ideal, but as has been said there's more of a chance that it will yellow over time rather than stay clear. At least with the mixture of MOCs I have I get a good combo of clear/yellow.

I am glad that my POTF has remained clear as that is certainly a favorite among my Kenners.

Not sure why but I never really liked the ROTJ or POTF figures. Although the moulds improved and they looked more realistic than the earlier figures, I preferred the older less detailed ones. I couldn't pick between SW and ESB though, I love so many from both. Plastic capes rule :)

I've always attributed this to timing. I'm not sure how old you are Edd, but for example, my older brother was the prime age when SW came out in '77 for the toys. By '83 he was getting into the teenage years, so he didn't like ROTJ that much or Ewoks. For me Jedi was about the time I was old enough for the toys and as such those are the ones I appreciate more even though I love the whole line.

Well i've mainly stuck to MIMs. Squid Head, Nien Nunb, Ree Yees and Gam Guard are all MIMs and i'm hoping that they won't yellow. My Yoda and C3P0 i've had for about 2 years and they're still the same as when i got them. C3P0 is the clearest bubble i have.
I agree tho some figure crad combos seem destined to yellow and there's no real point in forking out for a clear one as they're gonna go. 8D8 to be fair is one of the worst along with Rancor Keeper and a couple of others. Bib Fortuna. But others seem to fair a lot better.

Emperor is a shocker too, seems a lot of figures with inner trays go quicker than others. Perhaps they react with each other when sealed who knows.

Yeah i was gonna say it seems to be the ones with the bigger bubbles and inner trays that fair worst.
