Iain I made my own display case custom to fit what I wanted to display at the time tho it works for other stuff since my focus has changed. It's been a bit of a work in progress as I'm a lazy git at times but just finished painting it now so will post pics when it's done. Here's a glimpse...

Each compartment also has LEDs in them for night mode!

That looks awesome mate and I would love to have something like that. My DIY skills are very poor so I could never put something like that together myself.

I will watch with interest as you put your together and then maybe we can have a little chat

lol, cheers dude. Tbh this was my first attempt at DIY in the home, it's not as hard as people think, really. Just design what you want on paper/computer. Build the frame work ( I asked Ed, e31316, great help) and then shove some MDF on top and presto!

Got to sort the framework out tho might stick with the white and then sort the rest of the room out, ripping up the red carpet and treating the floorboards so will give the overall feel to the room a pleasant and smarter one.
