Thanks to this forum i was able to save a truck load of cash and reverse an ebay trade..I have seen this up for grabs 800USD...bit hard from the pics but is it possible this is the real deal...the chap has no idea why it is in an afa type case...he says no afa grading..any thoughts/ suggestions, always appreciated..

These are some examples of real ones that sold or were advertised for sale on here, as you can see the capes are very different, even in acrylic cases.

The OPs jaws has a two layered vinyl, commonly used in the faking of these as thick enough vinyl is not so easy to get colour matched, its also unbelievably shiny.... Total fake IMO

it's beyond a shadow of a doubt fake. I can't be sure, but likely the reason it's in the AFA case is that AFA offers as part of its service to case up any collectible - without a grade - if the item is rejected from grading for any reason. That works and makes some sense to case up a MOC that is rejected for ink touch ups, etc., but is completely irresponsible when it comes to something like this fake cape VCJ. I know, I know....AFA doing something irresponsible....impossible!!!! lol

So likely someone submitted this for grading, it was rejected because of the fake cape, and AFA placed it in the same case as a graded one would be, but with no grade or grade label.

The case is likely worth more than the Jawa inside it.

It is fake 1000% - and I too had no idea AFA would case repro cape wearing figures, that is somewhat scandalous.

It's fake and I reckon that cape is from the dude in Spain. I binned a fake cape a while back that was exactly the same but without the weird second layer. No idea what that's about :?

It is fake, afa will case it anyway but not grade it as whoever sent it had already paid the price for grading.
