First Attempt At Re-Sealing A Vintage Figure

Don't like reseals myself, but don't have a problem with this sort of thing as it's basically preservation. Great job by the way on this. This reminds me I used to go to a flee market every now and then where this guy had a selection of MOC's including a ROTJ Fett he wanted £125 for it, this was about 2007. I thought at the time he was asking to much.

Ian_C Don't change your beliefs to fit in, I still like Gradeing and the Prequel Trilogy and don't have a problem sleeping at night. :)

Good effort there on the reseal. Nothing wrong with them IMO. I have quite a few and they are all like yours. They display nice but you can easily tell it's been tinkered with. Not really sure what else you would do with a card and the original bubble. I guess you could reseal it without the figure inside to just show off the card.

Nowt wrong with a reseal....have quite a few in my collection.

Like most have said as long as you declare it when selling on (if u ever do) then there's no issue.

That Fett looks great.....lucky I didn't see the auction!

I prefer the reversible option : http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1117762/
It does look like a Taiwan Fett on Taiwan cardback, there is a 'more correct' blaster.

That's a great idea, shame I hadn't seen it before I got the PVA out :D

Oh, I'm not changing my beliefs, lol, just don't want to rock the boat too much so I need to know where my limits are on what I criticize. I'm not going to alienate myself from you guys by picking fights over what is accepted here. :)

Now, wanna discuss TFA? Alright, the gloves are off! At least I know Lee is in my corner on that one....

Difference between you and those brainwashed by the afa is that you are able to accept the afa make mistakes and criticise when they have.

Ian, don't worry about the other two points regarding u grades and repro. Most people on this board have enough intelligence to accept that the arguments put forward by those who practice both are purely selfish and that the practices in general do huge damage to the hobby we all partake in at various levels. We do get the odd exception but Todd normally educates them.

And Kieatky, that boba for the price you paid and the result you got, whilst not for me, looks great. Put it in acrylic and it will display really well for a fraction of the cost of a sealed one.

The Force Awakens looks awesome IMO, but I don't expect miracles I mean it's Disney after all. I'm just looking forward to being taken to a Galaxy far, far away for 120 minutes with stuff I've not seen. :D

Have to say that did turn out well. You did I good job for first time better than I think I could ever do :)
Its great everyone does have there own views on this. If everyone had the same thoughts the forum would be a very boring place for us all.
I myself have no interest in reseals. I bought a Luke farmboy from Iain awhile back and it would be perfect for someone to reseal. I shall leave it as it is as I feel this is part of the history of that figure and card leaving it be. I myself feel I am only tampering with it and would rather leave it be as from the day the seal was broken however long ago.
But as I said everyone to there own its for there own collection. I can see why lan feels so strong about this. I once bought a han figure graded way back. And to say I was pissed off is mild when I found out from the guys here that I had bought a toy Toni  . I paid a lot for it but now I feel its worth very little as it isn't original like the figures most of us grew up with opening at Xmas if we were lucky to get one or two :)
Just out of curiosity :) how do you manage to stick the paper on the card in place and hold it down when its still attached to the bubble :?: as I said just curious :D

I cheated mate, I took the 2 pieces of paper off the bubble and stuck them down first (you can see the joins in the photo), then put the bubble on afterwards.
